WORKING TECHNIQUES
Sweeping
S The fan effect of the rotating line can be
used for quick and easy clearing up.
Hold the trimmer line parallel to and
above the ar ea to be swept and move
the tool to and fro.
S When cutting and sweeping you should
use full throttle to obtain the best results.
Cutting
S The trimmer is ideal for cutting grass that
is difficult to reac h using a normal lawn
mower . Keep the trimmer line parallel to
the ground when cutting. Avoid pressing
the trimmer head against the ground as
this can ruin the lawn and damage the
tool.
S Do not allow the tr im mer head to con --
stantly come into contact with the ground
during normal cutting. Constant contac t
of this type can cause damage and wear
to the trimmer head.
W ARNING: Neithe r the oper ator
of the machine nor anyon e else may
attempt to remove the cut mat erial
while the engine is running or the
trimmer line is rotatin g, as this can
result in serious injury . Stop the
engine and trimmer head before you
remove material that has woun d
around the dri ve shaft as otherwise
there is a risk of injury . The bevel
gear can get hot durin g use and may
remain so for a wh ile after ward s. Y ou
could get burned if you touch it .
W ARNING: W atch out for thrown
objects . Always wear eye prot ection.
Never lean over the cutting attach-
ment guard. Stones, rubbish, etc.
