FUEL HANDLING
Fuel safety
Never start the machine:
1. If you have sp illed fuel on it. Wipe off the
spillage and allow remainin g fuel to evapo-
rate.
2. If you have sp illed fuel on yourself or your
clothes, chan ge your cl othes. Wash any
part of your body that has come in contact
with fuel. Use soap and water .
3. If the machi ne is leaking fuel. Check regu-
larly for leaks from the fue l cap and fuel
lines.
Transport and storage
S Store and transpor t the machine and fuel
so that there is no risk of any leakage or
fumes coming into contact with spark s or
naked flames, for example, from electri-
cal machinery, electric motors, electrical
relays/switches or boilers.
S When storing and transpor ting fuel al-
ways use approved containers intended
for this purpose.
S When storing the machine for long peri-
ods the fuel tank must be em ptied. Con-
tact your local pet rol station to find out
where to dispos e of excess fuel.
S Ensure the machine is cleaned and that
a complete service is car ried out before
long--term storage.
S The transport guard must always be
fitted to the cutting attachment when the
machine is being transported or in stor -
age.
S In order to prevent unintentional starting
of the engine, the spark plug cap m ust
always be removed during long--term
storage, if the machine is not under
close supervision and when performing
all service measures.
Fuel
CAUTION! The machine is equipped with a
two--st roke engine and must always be run
using a mixture of petrol and two-st roke
engine oil. It is important to accurately mea-
sure the amount of oil to be mixed to ensure
that the correct mixture is obtained. When
mixing sm all amounts of fuel, even smal l
inaccuracies can drastically affect the ratio
of the mixture.
Petrol
CAUTION! Always use a good quality pet-
rol/oil mixture (at least 90 octane).
Use low--emission petrol, also known as
alkylate petrol, if it is available.
S The lowest octane recom mende d is 90.
If you run the engine on a lower oc tane
than 90, it can resul t in knocking. This
gives rise to a high engine temperature,
which can result in serious engine damage.
S When working at continuous high revs, a
higher octane rating is recommended.
Two--stroke oil
S For best results and performanc e, use
HUSQ VA RNA two--strok e oil, which is
specially formulated for our two--stroke
engines. Mixture 1:50 (2%).
S If HUSQVA RNA two--stroke oil is not avai l-
able, you may use another two -str oke oil of
good quality that is inten ded for air cooled
engines. Contact your dealer when select-
ing an oil. Mixing ratio 1:33 (3%).
S Never use two--stroke oil intended for
water--cooled outboard engines,
sometimes referred to as outboard oil.
S Never use oil intended for four--stroke
engines.
W ARNING: Take care when han-
dling fuel. Bear in mind the risk of
fire, explosion and inhaling fumes.

W ARNING: Fuel and fuel fumes
are highly in flammable and can
cause serious injury when inhaled
or allow ed to come in contact with
the skin. For this reason observe
caution when handling fuel and
make sure there is adequate ven-
tilation.
