GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
IMPORTANT! A clea ring saw, brushcutter
or trimm er can be dangerous if use d incor-
rect ly or car elessly , and can caus e serious
or fatal injury to the operat or or other s. It is
extremely importa nt that you read and un-
derst and the cont ents of this operat or’s
manual. Y ou must use appr oved personal
protect ive equipment whenever you use the
machine. Personal protective equipment
cannot eliminate the risk of injury but it will
reduce the degree of injury if an accident
does happe n. Ask your dealer for help in
choosing the right equipment.
HELMET
A helmet should be worn if the brus h being
cleared is taller than 2 metres.
HEARING PROTECTION
Wear hearing protect ion that provides
adequate noise r eduction.
EYE PRO TECTION
Always wear approved eye protection. If
you use a visor then you must also wear
approved protective goggles. Approved
protective goggles must comply with EN
166 in EU countr ies.
GLOVES
Gloves should be worn when necessar y,
e.g., when fitting cutting attachments.
BOOTS
Wear anti--slip and stable boots.
Personal protective equipment
W ARNING: Listen out for warn-
ing signals or shouts w hen you are
wearing hearing protection. Always
remove your hearing protection as
soon as the engine stops.
Important
IM PORTANT! The machine is only desi gned
for trimming grass, grass clearing and/or
forestry clea ring.
The only accessories you can opera te with
this engine unit are the cu tting attachments we
recommend in the secti o n on Technical data.
Neve r use the machine if you are tired, if you
have dr unk alc ohol, or if you are taking medi-
cation that could af fect your vision, yo ur judge-
ment or yo ur co--ordination.
Neve r use the machine in extreme weat her
conditi ons su ch as severe cold, very hot and/
or humid climates.
Wear persona l prot ective equipment. See in-
stru ctions under the heading Pe rsonal prot ec-
tive equipment.
Neve r use a machi ne that has been modifie d
in any way from its original speci ficatio n.
Neve r use a machi ne that is faulty. Ca rry out
the checks, maintenance and service inst ruc-
tions described in this manual. Some mainte-
nance and service measur es must be car ried
out by trained and qualified specialists. See
instr uctions under the heading Maintenance.
All co vers and guards must be fitted before
star ting. Make sure the spar k plug cap and
lead are not damaged. Oth erwise you could
get an elect ric shock.
The machin e oper ator must ensure that no
people or animals come closer than 15 metres
while wo rking. When several operat ors are
working in the same area, the safety dist ance
should be at least 15 metres.
WARNING: Neve r allow childr en
to use or be in th e vicinity of the
machine. As the machine is equipped
withaspring--loadedstopswitchand
can be started by low speed and
force on the start er handl e, even
small children under some circum-
stances can produ ce the fo rce neces-
sary to start the machine. This can
mean a risk of serious personal inju-
ry. There fo re rem ov e the sp a rk plu g
cap when the machine is no t under
close supervisi on.
WARNING: Using an incorrect
cutting attachment or an incorrectly
filed blade can increase the risk of
accidents.
