NOMENCLATURE OF PARTS

2. Safety manual-Describeoperatingandsafety
instructionsforthischainsaw.
3. Front hand guard-Guardbetweenthefront
handleandthesawchainforprotectingthehand
frominjuriesandaidingincontrolofthechainsaw
if the hand slips off the handle. This guard is used
tolockthechainbrakewhichistostopthesaw
chain rotation.
4. Choke control knob-Deviceforenrichingthe
fuel/airmixtureinthecarburetortoaidcoldstart-
ing.
5. Purge pump-Whenstartingengine,pushpurge
pump 3 or 4 times.
6. Rear hand guard-Extensiononthelowerpartof
the rear handle for protecting the hand from the
chainifitbreaksordegrooves.
7. Clutch cover-Protectivecovertotheguidebar,
sawchain,clutchandsprocketwhenthechain
sawisinuse.
8. Chain tension adjuster-Devicetoadjustchain
tension.
9. Chain catcher - A projection designed to reduce
theriskoftheoperator’srighthandfrombeinghit
byachainwhichhasbrokenorderailedfromthe
guide bar during cutting.
10. Guide bar - The part that supports and guides the
sawchain.
11. Saw chain-Chain,servingasacuttingtool.
12. Bar tip guard-Anti-kickbackdeviceattachedon
the bar nose.
13. Oil tank cap-Forclosingtheoiltank.
14. Front handle (for the left hand) - Support handle
located at the front of the engine housing.
15. Starter handle-Pullhandleslowlyuntilstarter
engagesthenquicklyandrmly.Whenengine
starts,returnhandleslowly.DONOTlethandle
snapbackordamagetounitwilloccur.
16. Fuel tank cap-Forclosingthefueltank.
17. Ignition switch-Deviceforconnectinganddis-
connectingtheignitionsystemandthusallowing
the engine to be started or stopped.
18. Throttle trigger-Deviceactivatedbytheopera-
tor’snger,forcontrollingtheenginespeed.
19. Rear handle (for the right hand) - Support han-
dlelocatedtowardstherearoftheenginehous-
ing.
20. Throttle trigger lockout-Asafetyleverwhich
must be depressed before the throttle trigger can
be activated in order to prevent the accidental
operation of the throttle trigger.
21. Cylinder cover-Thecoolingairowgrill.Itcovers
thecylinder,airltter,sparkplugandsilencer.
22. Cylinder cover latch - Secures cylinder cover.
