FEDERAL and/or CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),and,forthoseproductscertifiedfor salein the stateofCalifornia,the
CaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedtoexplainthe emission(evaporativeand/orexhaust)controlsystem(ECS)warrantyonyouroutdoor2006
andlatersmalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)InCalifornia,newoutdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,builtand
equippedtomeetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(inotherstates,1997andlatermodelyearequipmentmustbedesigned,built,and equippedto meet
theU.S.EPAsmalloff-road,sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupIncmustwarrantthe ECSonyouroutdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelistedbelowprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceofoutdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludepartssuchasthecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Whereawarrantableconditionexists,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineatnocosttoyouincludingdiagnosis,partsandlabor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor twoyears.If anyemission-relatedpartonyouroutdoorequipmentengineisdefective,the partwill berepairedor
replacedbyMTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youareresponsiblefor performanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedinyourowner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Increcommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyouroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInccannotdenywarrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyouroutdoorequipment
engineor aparthasfailedduetoabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenteras soonasthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin areasonableamountoftime, nottoexceed30 days.Ifyouhavea questionregardingyourwarrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailathttp://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantstothe ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,builtandequipped
soasto conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefromdefectsin materialsandworkmanshipthatcausethe failureofa warrantedparttobe identicalin all
materialrespectstothat partasdescribedin MTDConsumerGroup Inc'sapplicationforcertification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatetheoutdoorequipmentengineisdeliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwo
years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsis asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthatisnotscheduledfor replacementasrequiredmaintenancein thewritteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe partfails duringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,thepartwill berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor theremainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledonlyforregularinspectionin thewritteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedforthewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledforreplacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedfor theperiodoftimebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor thatpart.Ifthe partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the partwill berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainderofthe periodpriortothe
firstscheduledreplacementpointforthe part.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedatawarrantystationatno chargetothe owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedatallof ourdistributioncentersthatarefranchisedtoservicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Theoutdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat isdirectlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof adefective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedata warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncisliablefordamagestootherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby afailureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineandequipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyofwarrantedpartssufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandforsuchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmaybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsandmustbeprovidedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthatarenotexemptedbythe AirResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseofany non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsbythe
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowingawarrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroupIncwill notbe liabletowarrantfailuresofwarrantedpartscaused
bythe useofa non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
