1. Removethescrewwhichsecuresthetrailshieldto theright side
ofthe mower.See Figure29.

3. Installthereplacementtrail shieldby followingthe stepsabovein
theoppositeorderandmannerof removal.
BATTERY
Batteryposts,terminals,andrelatedaccessoriescontainleadand
leadcompounds,chemicalsknowntotheStateofCaliforniatocause
cancerandreproductiveharm.Washhandsafterhandling.
If removingthe battery,disconnecttheNEGATIVE(Black)wire
from it'sterminalfirst,followedbythePOSITIVE(Red)wire.When
re-installingthe battery,alwaysconnectthe POSITIVE(Red)wireits
terminalfirst,followedbythe NEGATIVE(Black)wire.
Neverjumpstarta damagedor frozenbattery.Becertainthevehicles
do nottouch,andignitionsareoff.Donotallowcableclampsto
touch.
1. Connectpositive(+) cabletopositivepost(+)of yourmower's
dischargedbattery.
2. Connecttheotherendofthecableto the(positive+) postofthe
jumperbattery.
3. Connectthe secondcable(negative-) totheotherpostofthe
jumperbattery.
4. Makethefinalconnectionon theengineblockof themower,away
fromthebattery.Attachtoan unpaintedparttoassurea good
connection.
Ifthejumperbatteryisinstalledona vehicle(i.e.car,truck),do NOT
startthevehicle'senginewhenjumpstartingyourmower.
5. Startthemower(asinstructedin theOperationsectionofthis
manual).
6. Removethejumpercablesin reverseorderof connection.

automatic,chargeforatleasteighthours.
