Neutral
Placetheleverinneutral(N)beforestartingthemowerandwhenthe
mowerisnotinuse.Inaddition,themowercanbe manuallypushed
orpulledbyplacingthegearshiftleverintoN(neutral)positionand
pressingthedrivecontrolagainstthehandlebargrip.
Alwaysreleasethedrivecontrolbeforechangingspeeds.Failureto
dosomayresultin seriousdamagetoyourtransmission.
LCD
Whentheignitionkeyisrotatedoutofthe STOPpositionbutnot
intotheSTARTposition,thesystemsindicatormonitordisplaysthe
battery'soutput,involts,onits LCDfor approximatelyfiveseconds,
afterwhichitdisplaysan hourglassandthehoursofmoweroperation.
Oncetheengineis started,themonitorcontinuallydisplaysan hour
glassandthehoursofmoweroperationon its LCD.SeeFigure10.
NOTE:Hoursofmoweroperationarerecordedanytimetheignition
keyis rotatedoutoftheSTOP_i _position,regardlessofwhetherthe
engineisstarted.
TheIndicatorMonitorwillalsoremindthe operatorofmaintenance
intervalsforchangingtheengineoil.TheLCDwill alternatelyflashthe
recordedhours,"CHG"and"OIL'forfive minutes,afterevery50 hours
of recordedoperationelapse.Themaintenanceintervallastsfortwo
hours(from50-52,100-102,150-152,etc.).TheLeD willalsoflash
asdescribedaboveforfiveminuteseverytimethemower'sengine
hasbeenstartedduringthismaintenanceinterval.Beforetheinterval
expires,changetheengineoilasinstructedintheMaintenancesection
ofthis Operator'sManual.
Battery
Itis normalfortheBatterylighttoilluminatewhiletheengineis
crankingduringstart-up,butifit illuminatesduringoperation,whilethe
engineisrunning,thebatteryisin needofa chargeor the engine's
chargingsystemisnotgeneratingsufficientamperage.Chargethe
batteryasinstructedin theServicesectionof thismanualor havethe
chargingsystemcheckedbySearsor anotherqualifiedservicedealer.
