Slopesare amajorfactor relatedto slipandfall accidentswhichcan
resultinsevereinjury.Operationon slopesrequiresextracaution.If
youfeel uneasyona slope,do notmowit. Foryoursafety,usethe
slopegaugeincludedas partofthis manualto measureslopesbefore
operatingthis machineon a slopedor hillyarea.Ifthe slopeis greater
than 15degrees,donotmowit.
Do:
1. Mowacrossthefaceof slopes;neverup anddown.Exercise
extremecautionwhenchangingdirectionon slopes.
2. Watchfor holes,ruts,rocks,hiddenobjects,or bumpswhichcan
causeyou toslipor trip.Tallgrasscan hideobstacles.
3. Alwaysbe sureof yourfooting.A slipandfallcancauseserious
personalinjury.If youfeelyouare losingyourbalance,release
the motor/bladecontrolhandleimmediately,andthebladewill
stoprotatingwithinthree(3) seconds.
Do Not:
1. Do notmowneardrop-offs,ditchesorembankments,youcould
loseyourfootingor balance.
2. Do notmowslopesgreaterthan 15degreesas shownonthe
slopegauge.
3. Do notmowonwetgrass. Unstablefootingcouldcauseslipping.
SERVICE
• Whenservicingmower,useoriginalequipmentmanufacturer
(OEM) replacementpartslistedinthis manual."Useofparts
whichdonot meettheoriginalequipmentspecificationsmaylead
to improperperformanceandcompromisesafety!"
• Beforecleaning,repairing,or inspecting,makecertaintheblade
andall movingpartshavestopped.Disconnectthe powercord
when notin useandto preventunintendedstarting.
• Followinstructionsforlubricatingandchangingaccessories.
• Inspectlawnmowercord andextensioncordsperiodicallyand
replaceimmediately,if damaged.Lawnmowercordshouldbe
repairedby anauthorizedservicedealeronly.
• Keephandlesdry,cleanandfreefromoil andgrease.
• To reducea fire hazard,keepthe motorfreeofgrass,leavesand
debrisbuild-up.
• Checkthebladeand motormountingboltsatfrequentintervals
for propertightness.Also,visuallyinspectbladefordamage
(e.g.,bent,cracked,andworn)Replacebladewiththe original
equipmentmanufacturer's(OEM)bladeonly,listedin thismanual.
• Maintainyourmowerwithcare-- Keepmowerbladesharpand
cleanfor bestandsafestperformance.Mowerbladesaresharp
andcan cut,wrapthe bladeor wearglovesanduseextracaution
when servicingthem.
• Keepallnuts,bolts,and screwstightto besurethe equipmentis
in safeworkingcondition.
• Nevertamperwith safetydevices.Checktheir properoperation
regularly.
• Afterstrikingaforeignobject,stopthe motoranddisconnect
the powercord.Thoroughlyinspectthe mowerfor anydamage.
Repairthe damagebeforeoperatingthemower.
• Grasscatchercomponents,dischargecover,andtrail shieldare
subjectto wearanddamagewhichcouldexposemovingpartsor
allowobjectstobe thrown.Forsafetyprotection,frequentlycheck
componentsandreplaceimmediatelywithoriginalequipment
manufacturer's(OEM)partsonly,listedinthis manual.
• Whennotin use,storelawnmowerindoorsina dry area,locked-
up and/oroutof thereachof children.
• Maintainor replacesafetyandinstructionallabels,as necessary.
• Accordingtothe ConsumerProductsSafetyCommission(CPSC)
andthe U.S.EnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),this product
has anAverage UsefulLifeof seven(7)years,or 140hoursof
operation.At theendof theAverage UsefulLifehavethe machine
inspectedannuallyby anauthorizedservicedealerto ensurethat
all mechanicalandsafetysystemsareworkingproperlyandnot
