Changing the Engine Oim
The oil inthe engineshouldbe changedevery25 hoursof operation,
1, Togainaccessto the oil drainvalveonthe engine,the right
handlebracetubeshouldbe pivotedforward,
a, Removethe upperstarknobandcarriagescrewon the right
sideof the handle,Figure11,
b, Pivotthe bracetubetowardsthe frontof themowerto allow
roomto connectthe oil drainhosetotheoil drainvalve,

2, Popofftheprotectivecap onthe endoftheoil drainvalveto
exposethedrain port,Figure12,
3, Removetheoil fill cap/dipstickfromthe oil fill tube,Figure12,
4, Pushthe oildrainhose(packedwiththismanual)onto theoil
drainport,Routethe oppositeendofthehose intoanappropriate
oilcollectioncontainerwitha capacitygreatenoughto collectthe
usedoil,
5, Releasethe valvebyrotatingthe oil drainvalvecounterclockwise
andpulling,The oilwillbegintodrainoutofthe engine,
6, Afterthe oil hasfinisheddraining,pushthe oil drainvalvebackin,
rotateit clockwiseto lockthevalveclosed,removethe hose,and
re-capthe endof theoildrainvalveto keepdebrisfromentering
the drainport,
7, Refillthe enginewith newmotoroil untiltheoil levelonthe
dipstickreadsFULL,Replacethe oil fill cap/dipstick,
8, Pivotthe right handlebracetubebackinto position,Alignthe
middleholeinthe bracetubewiththe holein the handle,Secure
withthe starknobandcarriagescrewremovedearlier,
Onlyuse highqualitydetergentoil ratedwithAPIserviceclassification
SF orSG,Selectthe oil'sSAEviscositygradeaccordingtoyour
expectedoperatingtemperature,Figure13,Althoughmulti-viscosity
oils (5W30,10W30etc,)improvestartingin coldweather,thesemulti-
viscosityoilswill resultin increasedoilconsumptionwhenusedabove
32°RCheckyourengineoil levelmorefrequentlytoavoid possible
enginedamagefromrunninglowon oil
