ramp(s),becausethemachinecouldtipover,causingserious
personalinjury.The machinemustbe pushedmanuallyon
ramp(s)to loador unloadproperly.
Mufflerandenginebecomehotandcan causea burn.Donot

Checkoverheadclearancescarefullybeforedrivingunderlow

leavesmaycontactthe engineexhaustand/or builduponthe
mowerdeckpresentinga potentialfire hazard.

Slopesarea majorfactorrelatedto lossof controlandtip-over
accidentswhichcan resultinsevereinjuryor death.Allslopesrequire
extracaution.Ifyoucannotbackupthe slopeor if youfeeluneasyon
it, do notmowit.
Foryoursafety,usetheSlopeGuideincludedas partofthis manual
to measureslopesbeforeoperatingthis machineona slopedor hilly
area. Ifthe slopeisgreaterthan15degreesasshownonthe Slope
Guide,do notoperatethis machineonthatareaor seriousinjurycould
result.

whenchangingdirectionon slopes.

Uneventerraincouldoverturnthe machine.Tallgrasscanhide

Useslowspeed.Choosea lowenoughspeedsettingso that

Keepallmovementonthe slopesslowandgradual.Do notmake
suddenchangesinspeedor direction.Rapidengagementor

graduallydownhill,if possible.
• Donotmowneardrop-offs,ditchesor embankments.The mower
could suddenlyturnover if a wheelisovertheedgeof a cliff,

• Donottry to stabilizethe machinebyputtingyourfooton the
ground.
• Donotusea grasscatcheron steepslopes.
• Donotmowon wetgrass.Reducedtractioncouldcausesliding.
• Donotattemptto coastdownhill.Over-speedingmaycausethe
operatorto losecontrolof the machineresultingin seriousinjury
or death.
• Donottowheavypull behindattachments(e.g.loadeddumpcart,
lawn roller,etc.)on slopesgreaterthan5 degrees.Whengoing
down hill,theextraweighttendsto pushthetractorandmay
causeyou toloosecontrol(e.g.tractormayspeedup, brakingand
steeringabilityarereduced,attachmentmayjack-knifeandcause
tractortooverturn).
