YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),and, forthoseproductscertifiedfor sale in the stateofCalifornia,the
CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedto explainthe emission(evaporativeand/or exhaust)controlsystem(ECS)warrantyonyouroutdoor2006
andlater smalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)In California,newoutdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,builtand
equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(inotherstates,1997andlatermodelyear equipmentmustbedesigned,built,and equippedto meet
theU.S. EPAsmalloff-road,sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupIncmustwarrantthe ECSonyour outdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelisted belowprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceofoutdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludepartssuchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Whereawarrantableconditionexists,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineat nocost toyouincludingdiagnosis,parts and labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor two years. Ifanyemission-relatedpartonyour outdoorequipmentengineisdefective,the partwill berepairedor
replacedbyMTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelistedinyour owner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Increcommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyouroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInc cannotdeny warrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour outdoorequipment
engineor a part hasfaileddue toabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenteras soon asthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin areasonableamountoftime, notto exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailathttp://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantstothe ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,builtand equipped
so asto conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureof a warrantedpartto be identicalin all
materialrespectsto that partas describedin MTDConsumerGroup Inc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedate theoutdoorequipmentengineisdeliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwo
years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsis asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat is notscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssupplied,iswarrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe part fails duringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,thepart will berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledonly for regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat is scheduledfor replacementasrequiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliediswarrantedfor the periodoftimebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the part will berepairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupInc accordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderofthe periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointforthe part.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedata warrantystationat no chargetothe owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedatallof our distributioncentersthatare franchisedtoservicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Theoutdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthatis directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc isliablefor damagestootherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedbya failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineand equipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupInc will maintaina supplyofwarrantedpartssufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmaybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsandmustbeprovidedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe AirResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseof any non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfordisallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liableto warrantfailuresofwarrantedpartscaused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
