OPERATION
HYDRO-FLOAT OPTION OPERATION
The optional hydro float system provides a positive lift on the boom allowing it to respond move easily to
changes in the terrain. This is accomplished by inducing a positive hydraulic oil pressure in the lift cylinder
using an accumulator. The accumulator is shipped precharged on a whole-good. If received in a separate kit
or as replacement part, the accumulator will NOT be precharged. It must be charged to 90 psi with dry
nitrogen gas to function properly. It does not require any maintenance or adjustment after charging and initial
installation.
To operate the hydro float system, fully open the needle valve, move the mower head into position and begin
mowing. Do not lock the lift lever into the "float" position. Doing so will defect the hydro float function.
To turn the hydro float system off, lower the boom and head to the ground, move the lift function to the "float"
position until it locks, and then fully close the needle valve.
If the cylinder hydraulic system ever needs to be serviced, the same procedures as a non-hydro float system
are to be followed; that is, before servicing, lower the boom and head to the ground, turn off tractor, set brake,
remove key, and move each valve lever back and forth several times to relieve any line pressure that may be
present due to the weight of the boom or, as in the case with the hydro float system, pressure in the
accumulator.
