58 Installation for Local Servers Running Microsoft Windows SME v1.6 Enterprise Local Server Installation Guide
Mapping a Network Drive
Map a network drive to the shared folder where the SuccessMaker
Enterprise v1.6 system is installed. The T: drive is recommended.
Note: For the purposes of this document, this network drive will always be
referred to as the T: drive. If you choose not to use this drive, substitute the
drive letter you use where appropriate.
To map a network drive complete the following steps:
1. Log on to your Windows workstation as user with administrative
rights.
2. Map a network drive (T: is recommended) to the shared folder
where the SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 system is installed.
Choose the option to reconnect at startup.
Note:
SuccessMaker Enterprise is not compatible with
Universal Naming Convention
(UNC) mappings. You must
map the SME share to a drive letter.
Note:
For Windows 2000 or XP workstations, you may need to
re-map your drive while logged on as the
SMstudent
or
SMteacher
user after the workstation setup is complete.
3. You must now install the SuccessMaker Enterprise client. Go to the
next section.
