4. Pull start er rope handle sharply until engine
sounds a s if it is t ryi ng to start, but do not pull
rope more than 6 times.
5. As soon as engine sounds as if it is trying to
star t, move choke lever to HALF CH OKE
posit ion.
6. Pull st arter rope shar ply until engine runs,
but n o more than 6 pul ls.
NOTE: If the en-
gine doesn’tstart after 6pulls(attheHALF
CHO KEposition),move thechokeleverto
the FULL CHOKE position and press the
primer bulb 6times. Squeezeand hold the
throttle trigger and pull the starter rope 2
more times. Mov e the choke lever to the
HALF CHOKEposition andpull thestar ter
rope until the engine runs, but no more
than 6pulls. Iftheengine still doesn’tst art,
it is pr obab ly flooded. Proceed to STAR T-
ING A FLOODED ENGINE.
7. Once the engine starts, allow it t o run 10 se-
conds, then move the choke lev er to the
RUN posit ion. Allow the unit to run for 30
more seconds at RU N before releasing t he
throttl e trigger.
NOTE: If engine dies w ith
the choke lever in t heRUN position,move
the chokeleverto theHA L F CHOKE posi-
tion and pullthe rope untilengine runs, but
no more than 6 pulls.
STARTING A WARM ENGINE
1. Move th e ch o ke le ve r to the HALF CHOKE
position .
2. Squeeze the thro ttle trigger fully and hold
through all remaining steps.
3. Pull starter rope sharply until engine runs,
but no mor e than 6 pulls .
4. Allow engine t o run 1 5 se conds, th en move
the choke leve r to RUN.
NOTE: If engine has not s tarted, pull starter
rope 5more pulls.If enginestilldoes notrun,it
is probably flooded.
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
Flooded engines ca n b e start ed by placing the
choke lever in the RUN position; t hen, pull the
rope to cl ear the engine of exce ss fuel. This
could requir e pulling the sta rter handle many
times depend ing on how badly the unit is
flooded. If the unit st ill doesn’t start, refer to
TROUBLESHOO TING T ABL E or call
1-800-554- 6723.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Avoid touching muffler
unless engine and muf fler are cold. A hot
muffler can cause serious bur ns.
WARNING: Stop engine and be sure
the impeller blades have stopped turning be-
fore opening the vacuum inlet door or at-
tempting to insert or remov e the vacuum or
blower tubes. The rotating blades can cause
serious injury. Always disconnect the s park
plug before performing maintenance or ac-
cessing movable parts.

placement of damaged or worn par ts.
S Fuel Tank -- Do not use unit if fuel tank shows
signs of damage or leaks.
S Vacuum Bag -- Do not use vacuum bag if it
is torn or damaged.
INSPECT AND CLEAN UNIT AND
DECALS
S After each use, inspect comple te unit for
loose or damaged parts. Clea n t he unit and
decals us ing a d amp cloth with a mild d eter-
gent.
S Wipe off unit with a clean dry cloth.
