STARTING A C OLD ENGI NE
1. Slowly press the primer bu tton 8 times.
2. Move chokeleverto theFULL CHOKEposi-
tion.
3. Move throttle le ver to the
position.

4. Pull starter rope sharply until engine at-
tempts torun,but nomore than5pulls(be-
low 30_ F, 8 pulls).
NOTE: If engine attempts to start before the
5
th
pull, go to next step immediately.
5. Move the choke lever to the HALF
CHOKE position.
6. Pull the starter rope sharply until the en-
gine runs, but nomore than 5 pulls (below
30_ F, 10 pulls).
7. After a 5 second warm--up, move the
choke lever to the RUN position.
8. Allow the unit to run for 30 more seconds
at the RUN position before moving the
throttle lever to the
position.
If engine has no t started after 5 p ulls (at HALF
CHOKE), repea t STAR TING ACOLDENGINE
procedure. If engine still does notstart, proceed
to STAR TING A FLOODED ENGINE.
9. To stop the e ngine, move the throttle lever to
the ST OP position.
STARTING A WARM ENGINE
NOTE:
If fuel tank is empty, add fuel; then,
follow STARTING A C OLD ENGINE proce-
dure. D o not fill fuel tank while engine is hot.
1. Move throttle lever to the
position.
2. Pull starter rope sharply until engine runs,
but no mo re than 5 pulls.
NOTE: If engine has not started, pull starter
rope 5morepulls. If enginestill does not run,
it is probably flooded.
3. To stop the e ngine, move the throttle lever to
the ST OP position.
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
Flooded engines can be started by placing the
choke lever in the RUN position. Move throttle
le ve r t o the f ast posi t i o n
; then, pull rope
until engine starts. After eng ine starts, move the
throttle le ver to the slow position
to allow
engine to idl e.
Starting could require pulling the starter rope
many times depe nding on how badly t he uni t is
flooded.

SHOOTING T ABLE or call 1-800-554-6723.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Avoid touching m uffler
unless engine and muffler are cold. A hot
muffler can cause serious bur ns.
WARNING: Stop engine and be sure
the impeller blades have stopped turning be-
fore opening the vacuum inlet door or at-
tempting to insert or remove the vacuum or
blower tubes. The rotating blades c an cause
serious injury. Always disconnect the spark
plug before performing maintenance or ac-
cessing movable parts.

placement of damaged or worn parts.

signs of damage or le aks.
S Vacuum Bag -- Do not use vacuum bag ifit
is torn or damaged.
INSPECT AND CLEAN UNIT AND
DECALS
S After each use, inspect complete unit for
loose o rdamagedparts. Cleantheunit and
decals usinga dampclothwithamilddeter-
gent.
S Wipe off unit with a clean dry cloth.
