NOTE:
Donotattemptto cleanthespark ar-
resting screen.
1. Loosenand removethe 2screws from the
muffler cover. Remove the muffler cover.
2. Loosen andremove bothscrews from the
exhaust diverter.
3. Remove the exhaust diverter and spark
arresting screen.
4 Install new spark arresting screen.
5. Reinstall exhaust diverter and both
screws. Tighten screws securely.
6. Reinstall muffler cover and 2 screws.
Tighten securely.
NOTE:
If any par tof the muf fler is cracked,
broken or damaged, we recommend that the
muffler be r eplaced.
CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENTS
Thereis no screw for idle adjustment on your
blower. The throttle lever is used to control
engine speed. The throttle lever can be
placed in one of four positions: ST OP, IDLE
or
, FULLTHROTTLE or , and one
intermittentposition. Ifyourenginewill notrun
properly or you require further assistance,
contact an authorized service dealer or call
1--800--554--6723.
STORAGE
W ARNING:
Perform the following
steps after each use:
S
Allow engine to cool, and secure the unit
before storing or transporting.
S
Store unit and fuel in awell ventilated area
where fuel vapors cannot reach sparks or
open flames from water heaters, electric
motors or switches, furnaces, etc.
S
Store unit with all guards in place. Position
unit so that any sharp object cannot acci-
dentally cause injury.
S
Store uni t and fuel well out of the reach of
children.
SEASONAL STORAGE
Prepareunit for storageat endof season or if
it will not be used for 30 days or more.
If your unit is to b e storedfor a period oftime:
S
Clean the entire unit before lengthy stor-
age.
S
Store in a clean dry area.
S
Lightly oil external metal surfaces.
FUEL SYSTEM
Under FUELING ENGINE in the OPERA-
TIONsectionofthis manual,see messagela-
beled IM PORTANT r egarding the use of ga-
sohol in your engine.
Fuel stabilize r is an acceptable alternative i n
minimizing the formation o f fuel gum de posits
d uring st orage. Add stab ilizer to gaso line in fuel
tank or fue l storage container . Follow the mix
in structions found on stabilizer contain er. Run
e ng ine atlea s t 5min utes af ter a ddin gsta bilizer.
ENGINE
S
Remove spark plugand pour1 teaspoonof
40:1,2-cycle engineoil (air cooled)through
the spark plug opening. Slowly pull the
starter rope 8 to 10 times to distribute oil.
S
Replace spark plugwith newone ofrecom-
mended type and heat range.
S
Clean ai r filter .
S
Check entire unit for loose screws, nuts,
and bolts. Replace any damaged, broken,
or worn parts.
S
At the beginning of the next season, use
only freshfuel havingthepropergasolineto
oil ratio.
OTHER
S
Do not store gasoline from one season to
another.
S
Replace yourgasoline canifitstarts torust.
