SAFETY RULES

Read your instruction manual carefully until
you completely under stand and can follow
all warnings andsafety rules beforeoperat-
ing the unit.

will follow all warnings and safety rules in
this manual.
W ARNING:
Inspect area before start-
ing unit. Remove all debris and hard objects
su ch as rocks, glass, wire , et c. t ha t can r ico-
chet, be thrown, o r otherwise cause injury or
damage during operation.
Use your unit a s a blower for:

Sweeping debris or grass clippings from
drivew ays, sidewa lks, pat ios, etc.
D
Blowing grass clippings, straw , or le aves into
piles, arou nd joints, or be twe en bricks.
Use your unit as a vacuum for:

Picking up dry material such as leaves,
grass, small twigs, and bits of paper .
D
For b est results during vacuum use, operate
your unit at h igh spee d.

Move slowly back andforthover themate-
rial as you vacuum. Avoid forcing the unit
intoapileofdebrisasthis canclog theunit.

Keep the v acuum tube a bou t an i nch above
thegroundforbestresults.
PLAN AHEAD

Always wear eye p rotection when operat-
ing, servicing, or performing maintenance
on unit. Wearing eye protection will help to
preventrocks ordebris frombeing blownor
ricocheting into eyes and face which can
result in blindness and/or serious injury.
Eye protection should be marked Z87.
D
Always wear foot protection. Do not go
barefoot or wear sandals.
D
Always wear respirator or face mask when
working with unit in dusty environments.
D
Secure hair aboveshoulder length.Secure
or remove jewelry, loose clothing, or cloth-
ing with loosely hanging straps, ties, tas-
sels, etc. They can be caught in moving
parts.
D
Do not op er at eunit w henyou aretired, ill,up-
set, or if you are under the influence of alco-
hol, drugs, o r medication.

Keep children, bystanders, and animals
away from work area a minimum of 30 feet
(10 meters) whenstartingor operatingunit.
Do not point the blower nozzle in thedirec-
tion of people or pets.
HANDLEFUEL WITHCAUTION,IT IS
HIGHLY FLAMMABLE

Eliminate all sources ofsparks orflame(in-
cluding smoking, open flames, or work that
cancausesparks)intheareaswherefuelis
mixed, poured, or stored.
D
Mix and pour fuel in an outdoor area;store
fuel in acool, dry, well ventilated place; use
an approved, marked container for a ll fuel
purposes.
D
Do not smoke while handling fuel or w hile
operating the unit.
D
Make sure the uni t is properly assembled
and in goodoperating condition.
D
Do not fill fuel tank while engine is hot or
running.
D
Avoid spilling fuel or oil. Wipe up fuel spills
before starting engine.
D
Move at least 10feet (3meters)away from
fuel andfueling site befor e starting engine.

Always store gasoline in a container ap-
proved for flammable l iquids.
OPERATE YOUR UNIT SAFELY
W ARNING:
Stop the engine before
opening the vacuum inlet door. The engine
must be stopped and the impeller blades no
longer turningto avoid serious injury from the
rotating blades.

Inspect unit before each use for worn,
loose, missing, or damaged parts. Do not
use unti l unit is in proper working order.
D
Keep outside surfaces fr ee of oil and fuel.
D
Never start or run engine inside a closed
room, building or other unventilated area.
Breathing exhaust fumes can kill.
D
To avoid static electricity shock, do not
wear rubber gloves or any other insulated
gloves while operating unit.
D
Do not set unit on any surface except a
clean, hard area while engine is running.
Debris such as gravel, sand, dust, grass,
etc.couldbepicked upby theair intakeand
thrown out through discharge opening,
damagingunit, property, o rcausing serious
injury to bystanders or operator.

Avoiddangerousenvironments.Donotuse
in unventilated areas or where explosive
vapors or carbon m onoxide build up could
be present.

Do notoverreachor use fromunstablesur-
faces such as ladders, trees,steep slopes,
rooftops,etc.Keepfirmfootingandbalance
at all times.

Never place objects inside the blower
tubes; always direct the blowing debris
awayfrompeople,animals,glass, andsolid
objects such as trees, automobiles, w alls,
etc.Theforceofaircancauserocks, dirt,or
sticks tobe thrownor toricochet whichcan
hurt people or animals, break glass, or
cause other damage.

Never run unit without the proper equip-
ment attached. When using your unit as a
blower, always install blower tubes. When
usingyour unitas avacuum,always install
vacuum tubesandvacuum bagassembly.
Make sure vacuum bagassembly is com-
pletely zipped.

Check air intake opening, blower tubes,
vacuum tubes, andelbow tubefrequently,
always with engine stopped and spark
