Operang The Pao Torch
Inial Lighng: When lit for the rst me, the pao torch emits a slight odor. This is a normal temporary condion
caused by the “burn-in” of internal paints and lubricants used in the manufacturing process and does not occur
again. Simply run the main burner on high for approximately one-half hour.
WARNING!
• Children and adults should be alerted to the hazards of high surface temperatures and should stay away
from the pao torch to avoid burns or clothing ignion.
• Children should be carefully supervised when they are in the area of the pao torch.
• Clothing or other ammable materials should not be hung from the pao torch, or placed on or near the
pao torch. The area above the post may be extremely hot. Direct contact with these metal surfaces
should be avoided in order to prevent burns or clothing ignion.
• Any guard or protecve device removed for servicing the pao torch must be replaced prior to operang
the pao torch.
• Installaon and repair should be done by a qualied service person. The pao torch should be inspected
before each use and at least annually by a qualied service person. More frequent cleaning may be
required as necessary. It is imperave that the control compartment, burners and circulang air passageways
of the pao torch be kept clean.
WARNING!
• Never use the pao torch while it is raining, the glass tube could break when exposed to water.
• Always turn the pao torch o when raining.
• Never splash any liquid on the glass tube when the pao torch is operang.
• The glass tube will be extremely hot while operang, never try to touch it.
• Always ensure the pao torch stands rmly on level ground, the glass tube will break if the pao torch is
knocked over.
• Never use the pao torch if the glass tube is cracked or broken.
NOTE! The pao torch has been designed with several safety features, which include a p over switch.
If the appliance is accidently knocked over the switch will be acvated and gas to the appliance will be
automacally shut o.
WARNING! Any modicaon to the pao torch may compromise the safety of this appliance. Special
concern is as follows.
• Do not bypass thermocouple safety.
• Do not operate pao torch without a reector.
