This gas torch is cered under Canadian and American naonal standards, CSA 2.37a – 2008 and ANSI
Z83.26a - 2008
respecvely for outdoor pao heaters and must be installed to conform with local codes.
When an appliance is for connecon to a xed piping system, the installaon must conform with local codes
or, in the absence of local codes, with the Naonal Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, Natural Gas and
Propane Installaon Code, CSA B149.1, or Propane Storage and Handling Code, B149.2.
CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65: The burning of gas fuel creates by-products, some of which are on the list as
substances known by the State of California to cause cancer or reproducve harm. When heang with gas,
always ensure adequate venlaon to the unit, to minimize exposure to such substances.
Propane Cylinder Specicaons
WARNING! If these instrucons are not followed exactly, a re causing death or serious injury may
occur.
A dented or rusty cylinder may be hazardous and should be checked by your propane supplier. Never use a
cylinder with a damaged valve. Use only a propane supply cylinder constructed and marked in accordance with
the specicaons for LP-gas cylinders of the Naonal Standard of Canada, CAN/CSA-B339, Cylinders, Spheres
and Tubes for Transportaon of Dangerous Goods; and Commission, as applicable or the Specicaons for
LP-Gas Cylinders of the U.S. Department of Transportaon (D.O.T.). This appliance has been designed for use
with a 20 lb. (9.1 kg) or 30 lb (13.6 kg) size propane cylinder only (not supplied).
The propane cylinder must be provided with a cylinder connecon device compable with the connecon for
outdoor gas appliances. The propane cylinder must be provided with a shut-o valve terminang in a propane
cylinder valve type QCC1, and a safety relief device having direct communicaon with the vapor space of the
cylinder. The cylinder supply system must be arranged for vapor withdrawal and the cylinder shall include a
collar to protect the cylinder valve. The cylinder shall incorporate a listed OPD (overll protecon device). Do
not store a spare LP-gas cylinder under or near this appliance. Never ll the cylinder beyond 80 percent full.
Place the dust cap on the cylinder valve outlet whenever the cylinder is not in use. Only install the type of
dust cap on the cylinder valve that is provided with the cylinder valve. Other types of caps or plugs may result
in leakage of propane.
Use only the pressure regulator and hose assembly provided with this pao torch. Replacement pressure
regulators and hose assemblies must be specied by the manufacturer. Do not store a spare propane cylinder
on the shelf beneath the torch.
The regulator supplies a pressure of 11 inches. water column to the pao torch and has a QCC1 type ng.
Cylinders to be used with this unit must be supplied with a QCC1 cylinder valve. A QCC1 cylinder has a posive
seang connecon, which will not allow gas ow unl a posive seal has been achieved. It is also equipped
with an excess ow device. In order to aain full ow to the torch, the valve must be in the o posion when
the cylinder valve is turned on.
Gas Hook-Up Instrucons
WARNING! Installaon and repair must be done by a qualied service person. The appliance must be
inspected before use and at least annually by a qualied service person. More frequent cleaning may be
required as necessary. It is imperave that the control compartment, burners and circulang air passages
of the torch be kept clean.
