Maintenance
Proper servicing and adjustment is the key to the long life
of any implement. With careful inspection and routine
maintenance, you can avoid costly down time and repair.
Check all bolts after using the unit for several hours to be
sure they are tight. Replace any worn, damaged or
illegible safety labels by obtaining new labels from your
Land Pride Dealer.

CAUTION
Never work under the Grading Scraper without blocking it up
properly first. The scraper can fall causing bodily injury.
Cutting Blades
Refer to Figure 5-1:
The front and rear cutting blades (#3) have two cutting
edges. Unbolt blades and turn them over when bottom
edges wear out. Inspect 5/8"-11 GR5 plow bolts (#4) and
nuts (#5) for wear and replace as needed. Reattach
blades and tighten to the correct torque. Replace cutting
blades when both edges are worn out.
Shank Tips
Refer to Figure 5-1:
Shank tips (#6) are removable by heating them in the
dimpled area on both sides and knocking them off with a
blunt punch. New shank tips need to be dimpled with a
punch after they are installed.

Skid Shoes
Skid shoes should be inspected at the beginning of each
season and replaced when material thickness is less
than 1/8" at any point. The skid shoe may be turned
around to extend its wear life if one end is wearing faster
than the other.
Order only genuine Land Pride parts from your local
Land Pride Dealer when replacing skid shoe
components.

Replace or turn skid shoe around as follows:
Refer to Figure 5-1:
1. Raise Grading Scraper 3" or more off the ground and
place support blocks under the scraper. Make sure
support blocks are positioned so they will not
interfere with skid shoe replacement.
2. Lower scraper onto support blocks, place tractor in
park, set park brakes, shut tractor engine off and
remove switch key.
3. Remove 3/8" hex flange lock nuts (#3), 3/8"-16 plow
bolts (#1) and skid shoe (#2) from scraper.
4. Plow bolts should be checked for wear and replaced
if necessary.
5. Turn old skid shoe around or install new skid shoe to
scraper with 3/8"-16 x 1" GR5 plow bolts (#1) and
3/8" hex flange lock nuts (#3). Tighten lock nuts (#4)
to the correct torque.
6. Raise scraper up and remove support blocks.

Storage
1. It is good practice to clean off any dirt or grease that
may have accumulated on the Grading Scraper at
end of working season or when not in use for long
periods.
2. Repaint parts where paint is worn or scratched to
prevent rust.
3. Replace all damaged or missing decals.
4. Store Grading Scraper inside if possible. Inside
storage will reduce maintenance and make for a
longer scraper life.
5. Inspect Grading Scraper for loose, damaged or worn
parts and adjust or replace if needed.
