Operating Check List
Hazard control and accident prevention are dependent
upon the awareness, concern, prudence and proper
training involved in the operation, transport,
maintenance and storage of the Grading Scraper.
Therefore, it is absolutely essential that no one operates
the Grading Scraper without first having read, fully
understood and become totally familiar with the
Operator’s Manual. Make sure the operator has paid
particular attention to:
• Important Safety Information, pages 1 to 4
• Section 1: Assembly & Set-up, page 7
• Section 2: Adjustments, page 9
• Section 3: Operating Instructions, page 11
• Section 5: Maintenance, page 14
Before beginning to operate your Grading Scraper the
following inspection should be performed
Operator’s Responsibilities

WARNING
Do not to allow anyone near the Grading Scraper during its
operation.
!
CAUTION
Always keep your feet and legs out from under the shanks
when adjusting shank height. The shanks can slip from your
grip and fall causing injury to your feet and/or legs.
!
CAUTION
Always keep your feet and hands out from under the blade
carrier when adjusting cutting blade height. The blade carrier
can fall causing injury to your feet and/or hands.

CAUTION
Be sure you are not working over any underground wiring,
pipes, or other obstructions. If there is any doubt, call your
public service agency.
• Follow all directions on the safety labels.
• Do not allow anyone to operate this Grading Scraper
who has not been properly trained in its safe operation.
• Do not let anyone under the age of 16 operate the
Grading Scraper.
• Use Grading Scraper for its intended purpose only.
• Never carry passengers or use the Grading Scraper as
a wagon to carry things.
• Never use Grading Scraper to pull or tow other
equipment or objects.
• Make sure all safety labels are in their proper location
and in good condition before operation.
• Never work under the unit without blocking unit up
properly.
• Before working the soil contact your local utility
services, so they may mark locations of any under
ground utility services in the area. Be sure to ask how
close you can work to the marks or flags they
positioned.
• All nuts, bolts, screws, and fasteners should be
checked periodically for tightness. Refer to the Torque
Value Chart in the “Appendix” section on page 17.
• Do not alter the Grading Scraper in a way which will
adversely affects its performance or reliability or use the
Grading Scraper for a purpose for which it was not
designed.
• Do not turn blades around and push with the scraper.
Pushing can cause structural damage to the scraper
and 3-point hitch. Always pull when under load.
Transporting
!
CAUTION
When traveling on public roads whether at night or during the
day, use accessory lights and devices for adequate warning to
operators of other vehicles. Comply with all federal, state and
local laws.
1. Be sure to reduce tractor ground speed when
turning; and leave enough clearance so the Grading
Scraper does not contact obstacles such as
buildings, trees or fences.
2. Select a safe ground travel speed when transporting
from one area to another.
3. When traveling on roadways, transport in such a way
that faster moving vehicles may pass you safely.
4. When traveling over rough or hilly terrain, shift tractor
to a lower gear.
