MAINTENANCE
Checking the transmission air intake
Check to ensure that the air intake valve to the
transmission is not clogged.
Checking and adjusting the steering
cables
The steering is governed by means of cables.
After a period of use these can become stretched,
which means the steering setting may have changed.
Steering is checked and adjusted as follows:
1. Remove the frame plate by loosening the two
screws.
2. Ensure that the cables are properly situated under
the steering cable pulleys in the frame tunnel.
Check the tension of the steering cables by
squeezing the cables together (at the arrows). It
should be possible to squeeze the cables so that
the distance between them is half the size, without
using too much force.
Change the cable if it has a damaged strand
causing loose threads to protrude.
3. If necessary, the cables can be stretched by first
loosening the lock nut and then tightening the
adjustment nut (one cable on each side of the
machine).
Hold the cable with, for example, an adjustable
wrench so that it does not twist. If the adjustment
is only made on one side, the middle position of
the steering will be affected.
Do not over tighten the cables; they should only be
drawn in towards the steering collar.
Check the cable tension after you have made the
adjustment as described in point 2.
