FUEL HANDLING
Fuel mi
x
ture
CAUTION! The machine is equipped with
a two--stroke engine and must always be
run using a mixture of petrol and two--
stroke engine oil. It is important to accu-
rately measure the amount of oil to be
mixed to ensure t hat the correct mixture is
obtained. When mixing small amounts of
fuel, even small inaccuracies can drastical-
ly affect the ratio of the mixt ure.
Petrol
CAUTION! Always use a good quality
petrol/oil mixture (at least 90 octane).
Use low--emission petrol, also known as
alkylat e petrol, if it is available.
S The lowest oct ane recommende d is 90.
If you run the engine on a lowe r octane
than 90, it can result in knocking. This
gives rise to a high engine temperat ure,
which can result in serious engine damage.
S When working at continuous high rev s, a
higher octane rating is recomm ended.
Two--stroke oil
S For best results and performance, use
HUSQVARNA two--stroke oil, which is
specially formulated for our two--stroke
engines. Mixture 1:50 (2%).
S If HUSQVA RNA two--stroke oil is not avail-
able, you may use another two- str oke oil of
good quality that is intended for air cooled
engines. Co n tact your dealer whe n select-
ing an oil. Mixing ratio 1:33 (3%).
S Never use two--stroke oil intended for
water--cooled outboard engines,
sometimes referred to as outboard oil.
S Never use oil intended for four--stroke
engines.

ply of fuel at a time.
S If the machine is not used for so m e time,
the fuel tank sho uld be em ptied and

W ARNING: The catalytic con-
verter muffler gets very hot during
and after use. This also applies
during idling. Be aware of the fire
hazard, especially wh en working
near flammable substances and/or
vapors.
Fueling
W ARNING: Taking the follow ing
precautions, will lessen the r isk of
fire:
Do not smoke or place hot objects
near fuel.
Always sh ut off the eng ine before
refueling.
Always st op the engine and let it
cool for a few minutes before
refueling.
When refueling, open the fuel cap
slowly so that any excess pressure
is released gently.
Tighten the fuel cap carefully af ter
refueling.
Always move the machine away
from the refueling area before
starting.
Mixing
