14. PERIODIC SERVICE

Engine Oil
Use an oil of the viscosity appropriate for the air
temperature range expected until the next oil change
interval.
Engine crankcase
Changing the Engine Oil
When draining away the engine oil that is still
hot, stay clear of the hot engine oil and other
components to avoid burn.
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage.
Change the engine oil more frequently if the tractor is
used in extremely demanding conditions:
Extremely dusty conditions
Frequent slow- or low-speed operation
Frequent short trips
1. Run the engine to warm up the engine oil.
2. Park the tractor safely on a level surface.
3. Open the hood.
4. Place an engine oil pan beneath the engine oil
drain plug.
(A) Drain plug
5. Remove the drain plug by turning
counterclockwise.
6. Reinstall the drain plug. Do not over-tighten it.
7. Remove the oil fill cap.
8. Add approximately 2.5 US qt (2.4 L) of the engine
oil.
9. Reinstall the oil fill cap.
10.Start and idle the engine to check for any leaks.
11.If there is any leakage, stop the engine, close the
hood and contact your local Cub Cadet Yanmar
for technical assistance.
12.Check the engine oil level and add more as
necessary.
13.Close the hood.
