STARTING
INSTRUCTIONS
1.
KNOW THE OPERATING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS IN THE
OPERATORS'S MANUAL AND ON THE TRACTOR
.
2.
MOVE THROTTLE TO MID POSITION AND DEPRESS BRAKE PEDAL.
3.
TURN KEY TO THE START POSITION.
1.
DISENGAGE PTO AND SET PARKING BRAKE.
2.
MOVE THROTTLE CONTROL TO MID POSITION AND TURN KEY OFF.
•
GO UP AND DOWN SLOPES, NOT ACROSS.
•
AVOID SUDDEN TURNS.
•
DO NOT OPERATE UNIT WHERE IT COULD SLIP OR TIP.
•
IF MACHINE STOPS GOING UPHILL, STOP PTO AND BACK DOWN HILL SLOWLY.
•
DO NOT MOW WHEN CHILDREN OR OTHERS ARE AROUND.
•
DO NOT ALLOW PASSENGERS ON THE TRACTOR AT ANY TIME.
•
LOOK DOWN AND BEHIND BEFORE AND WHILE BACKING.
•
KEEP SAFETY DEVICES [GUARDS, SHIELDS, AND SWITCHES] IN PLACE AND WORKING.
•
REMOVE OBJECTS THAT COULD BE THROWN BY THE BLADES.
•
KNOW LOCATION AND FUNCTION OF ALL CONTROLS.
•
BE SURE THE BLADES AND THE ENGINE ARE STOPPED BEFORE PLACING HANDS
OR FEET NEAR BLADES.
•
BEFORE LEAVING OPERATOR'S POSITION, DISENGAGE PTO, ENGAGE BRAKE LOCK,
SHUT OFF ENGINE AND REMOVE KEY.
•
SLOW DOWN FOR TURNS, ROUGH GROUND AND SLOPES TO AVOID UPSET.
•
ON PUBLIC ROADS USE SMV EMBLEM AND HAZARD LIGHTS.

To avoid personal injury, keep PTO shield in place.
Disengage PTO and stop engine before servicing tractor, or implements,
or attaching or detaching implements.
Pull only from draw bar. pulling from any other point can cause rear overturn.

BATTERY WARNING LABEL
UNDER HOOD
WARNING
When improperly operated this tractor can roll over or upset. Use of the ROPS and
seat belt minimize the possibility of injury or death if roll over or upset occurs. For
low clearance use only, the ROPS can be lowered. No protection is provided in this
position and the seat belt should not be fastened. For all other uses, secure the ROPS
in the upright position and fasten the seat belt.
