ments. Keepallpartsofyourbody awayfrom
the cutting attachment and muffler.
To adjust idle speed:
Start engine and allow to warm up 4--5
minutes while heavy cutting, or 10--15
minutes moderate cutting. Allow engine to
idle. Adjust speed until engine runs without
stalling (idle speed too slow).
S Turn idle speed screw clockwise to in-
creaseenginespeedifenginestallsordies.
S Turnidle speedscrew counterclockwiseto
decrease engine speed.

STORAGE
CAUTION:
Perform thefollowing steps af-
ter each use:
S Allow engine to cool, and secure the unit
before storing or transporting.
S Store unit and fuelin a well ventilated area
where fuel vapors cannot reach sparks or
open flames from water heaters, electric
motors or switches, furnaces, etc.
S Store unit with all guards in place. Position
unit so that any sharp object cannot acci-
dentally cause injury.
S Store unit and fuel well out of the reach of
children.
SEASONAL STORAGE

it will not be used for 30 days or more.
If your unitis to be storedfor aperiod oftime:
S Clean the entire unit before lengthy storage.
S Store in a clean dry area.
S Lightly oil external metal surfaces.
FUEL SYSTEM
Under FUELING ENGINE in the OPERA-
TIONsectionofthismanual,seemessagela-
beled IMPORTANT regarding the use of
proper fuel in your engine.
Fuel stabilizer is an acceptable alternative in
minimizingtheformationof fuelgumdeposits
during storage. Add stabilizer to the gasoline
in the fuel tank or fuel storage container.

container.Run engineat least5 minutesafter
adding stabilizer.
HELPFUL TIP
Duringstorageof yourgas/
oilmixture, theoilwillsepa-
rate from the gas.
We recommend that you
shake the gas can weekly
toinsureproperblendingof
the gas and oil.
ENGINE
S Removespark plugandpour1 teaspoonof
40:1,2-cycleengineoil(aircooled)through
the spark plug opening. Slowly pull the
starter rope 8 to 10 times to distribute oil.
S Replacespark plugwithnewoneofrecom-
mended type and heat range.
S Clean air filter.
S Check entire unit for loose screws, nuts,
and bolts. Replace any damaged, broken,
or worn parts.
S At the beginning of the next season, use
onlyfreshfuelhavingthepropergasolineto
oil ratio.
OTHER
S Do not store gasoline from one season to
another.
S Replaceyourgasolinecanifitstarts torust.
