S Have all service and maintenance not ex-
plained inthis manual performed by anau-
thorized service dealer to avoid creating a
hazard.
S Maintain unit according to recommended
procedures. Keep cutting line at proper
length. Follow instructions for changing
trimmer line.
S Makecertainthecuttingheadstopsmoving
when trigger switch is released.
S Do not repair unit yourself.
S Use only 0.080 (2 mm) diameter WEED
EATERbrandline(seeSERVICEANDAD-
JUSTMENTS). Never use wire, rope,
string, etc.
S Install required shield properly before use.
Useonlyspecifiedtrimmerhead an dspool;
make sure it is properly installed and se-
curely fastened.
S Never douseor squirt theunit with water or
anyother liquid.Cleanunitandlabelswitha
damp sponge. Keep handles dry, clean,
and free from oil and grease.
S Keep the air vents clean and free of debris
to avoid overheating the m otor. Clean after
each use.
S Useonly WEEDEATERreplacementparts
and accessories as recommended.
CUTTING SAFETY
WARNING: Inspect the area to be
trimmed before each use. Remove objects
(rocks, broken glass, nails, wire, etc.) which
canbethrownbyorbecomeentangledinline.
Hard objects can damage the trimmer head
and be thrown causing serious injury .
S Keepfirmfootingandbalance.Donotover-
reach o r use from unstable surfaces such
as ladders, trees, steep slopes, rooftops,
etc.
S Keep all parts of your body away from cut-
ting head and spinning line.
S Keepthecuttingheadbelowwaist level.Do
notraisehandles aboveyour waist.Cutting
head can come dangerously close to your
body .
S Use unit properly. Use only for trimming,
edging,scalping,and mowing.Donotforce
unit.Itwilldothejobbetterandwithlessrisk
of injury at the rate for which it was de-
signed.
S Cut from your right to your left. Cutting on
left sideof t heshield willthrow debris away
from the operator.
S Useonly indaylightoringoodartificiallight.
S Use only for jobs explained in this manual
(or manuals for optional attachments).
TRANSPORTING AND STORAGE
S Stop the unit and disconnect the power
source when not in use.
S Carry the unit with motor stopped.
S Store the unit so the line limiter blade (on
underside of shield) cannot cause injury.
S Store unitindoors inahigh, dryplace outof
thereachof children. Storeunitunplugged.
S Donothangunitsothatthetrigger switchis
depressed.
