THROTTLE LEVER
The THROTTLE LEVER is used to select t he
desired enginespeed and to stop the engine.
Movethethrottlelevertothe
positionfor
full speed operation. Move the throttle lever
tothe
positionforidlespeed. Tostopthe
engine, move the throttle lever to the STOP
position.
PRIMER BUTTON
The PRIMER BUTTON removes air from t he
carburetor and fuel lines and f ills t hem with fuel.
Thisallowsyoutostarttheenginewithfewer
pulls on the s tarter ro pe. Activate p rimer button
by pressing itand all owing itto return t o its ori g i-
nal position.
CHOKE LEVER
The CHOKE helps to supply fuel to the engine
toaidincoldstarting.Activatethechokeby
moving the choke lever to t he FULL C HOKE
position.After engineattempts tostart, move the
choke lever to the HALF CHOKE position.
Once engine starts, move choke lever to the
RUN posi t i o n.

OPERATING TIPS
S While blowing debris, hold the unit with the
muffler side facing away from y our body
and clothes (see OPERATING POSITION
illustration above).
S To reduce the risk of hearing loss
associated with sound level(s), hearing
protection is required.
S To reduce the risk of i njury associated with
contacting rotating parts, stop the engine be-
fore i nstalling o r rem oving attachments. Do
not operate without guard(s) in place.
S Operate power equipment only at reasonable
hours--not early in the morning or late a t night
when people might bedisturbed. Comply with
times listed in local ordinances. Usual recom-
mendations are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
Monday though Saturday.
S To r educe noise levels, limit the num ber of
pieces of equipment used at any one time.
S To reduce noise levels, operate power
blowers a t the lowest possible throttle
speed to do the job.
S Use rakes and brooms toloosen d ebris be-
fore blow ing.
S In dusty conditions, slightly dampen sur-
faces or use a mister attachment when w a-
ter is a vailable.
S Conserve water by using power blowers
instead of hoses for m any lawn and garden
applications, including ar eas such as g utters,
screens, pat ios, grills, p orches, and gardens.
S Watchout forchildren,pets, openwindows,
or freshly washed cars. Blow debris away
safely.
S Use the full blow er nozzle extension so the
air stream can work close to the ground.
