DOUBLE INSULATION CONSTRUC -
TION
Your unit is double insulated to help pro-
tectagainst electric shock. Doubleinsula-
tion construction consists of twoseparate
“layers” of electrical insulation instead of
grounding. Tools and appliances built
witha doubleinsulation system arenotin-
tended to be grounded. No grounding
means is provided onthis unit, norshoul d
a means for grounding be added to this
unit. As a result, the extension cord used
with your unit can be plugged into any
standard 120 volt electrical outlet.
Safety pr ecautions must be obser vedwhen
operating any electrical tool. The double in-
sulation system only provides added pro-
tection againstinjury resulting froman in ter-
nal electrical insulation failure.
WARNING:
All electrical repairsto
this unit, including housing, switch,motor,
etc., must be diagnosed and repaired by
an authorized service dealer. Repl ace-
ment parts for a double insulated
appliance must be identical to the parts
they replace. A double insulated
appliance is marked with the words
“DOUBLE I NSULATION”
or
“DOUBLE INSU-
LATED.”

source when not in use. Do not leave the
unit when it is plugged into an outlet.

Do not set the unit on any sur face except
a clean, hard a rea while the unit is run-
ning. Debris such as gravel, sand, dust,
grass, et c., could be picked up by the air
intake and thr own out t hr ough the dis-
charge opening, damaging the unit, prop-
erty, or causing serious injury to bystand-
er s or operat o r.

Do not overreach or use f rom unstable
surfaces such as ladders, trees, steep
slopes, r ooft ops, etc. Use extr a c are
when cleaning on stairways. Keep firm
footing and bal ance a t all times. Keeps
hands out of tubes.

Inspect the entire unit before each use for
worn, loose, missing, or damaged par t s.
Do not use until t he unit is in proper work-
ing order.

Disconnect unit from power source be-
fore servicing, cleaning, perfor ming main-
tenance, or storing.
