1. Installatleastonesmokedetectoroneachoorof
yourhometoensureyoursafety.Theyshouldbe
located away from the heating appliance and close
tothesleepingareas.Followthesmokedetector
manufacturer’s placement and installation instructions,
and be sure to maintain regularly.
2. AconvenientlylocatedClassAfireextinguisher
to contend with small fires resulting from burning
embers.
• Removeapplianceandcomponentsfrompackagingand
inspect for damage.
• Ventsystemcomponentsanddoorsareshippedin
separatepackages.
• Reporttoyourdealeranypartsdamagedinshipment.
• Read all the instructions before starting the
installation. Follow these instructions carefully
during the installation to ensure maximum safety and
benet.
I. Inspect Appliance and Components
1. Placetheapplianceinalocationnearthenal
installationareaandfollowtheproceduresbelow:

articlespackedinsidetheComponentPack.Inspect
allthepartsandglassforshippingdamage.Contact
your dealer if any irregularities are noticed.
3. Allsafetywarningshavebeenreadandfollowed.

5. Floorprotectionrequirementshavebeenmet.
6. Ventingisproperlyinstalledperventmanufacturing
instructions.
7. Theproperclearancesfromtheapplianceandchim-
ney to combustible materials have been met.
8. Themasonrychimneyisinspectedbyaprofessional
and is clean, or the factory built metal chimney is
installed according to the manufacturer’s instruc-
tions and clearances.
9. Thechimneymeetstherequiredminimumheight.

Alllabelshavebeenremovedfromtheglass
door.
11. Plated surfaces have been wiped clean, if appli-
cable.
12. Apoweroutletisavailablenearbyforuseofthe
blower assembly.
Inspect appliance and components for damage.
Damaged parts may impair safe operation.
