thechain and/ordiscoloration of thebar. T he
oil output is automatically metered during op-
eration. Always fill the bar oil tank before and
during use as needed(capacity = 4.6 fl. oz.).
Genuine Poulan bar andchain oil is recom-
mended to protect your unit against exces-
sive wear from heat and friction. Poulan oil
resists high temperature thinning.
If Poulan bar and chain oil is not available,
use a good grade SAE 30 oil.
S Never use waste oilfor bar and chainlubri-
cation.
S Always stop the unit before removing the oil
cap .
WARNING: Always stopunitanddis-
connect from power source beforeremoving
or installing atta chments.

CAUTION:
Whenremoving or installing at-
tachments, placethe uniton a flatsurface for
stability.
1. Loosen the coupler by turning the knob
counterclockwise.

2. Press and hold the locking/release button.

3. While securely holdingthe motorhousing
and upper shaft, pull the attachment
straight out of the coupler.
INSTALLING OPTIONAL ATTACH -
MENTS
1. Remove the shaft cap from the attach-
ment (if p resent).
2. Position locking/release button of attach-
ment into guide recess of coupler.
3. Push theattachment intothecoupleruntil
the locking/release button snaps into the
primary hole.
4. Beforeusing theunit,tightenthe knobse-
curely by turning clockwise.

WARNING: Make sure the locking/
release button is locked in the primary hole
andthe knobis securely tightened beforeop-
erating the unit.
INSTALLING ATTACH MENT
HANGER
An attachmenthanger isprovided forstorage
when attachment is not in use.
To install hanger on attachment:
1. Remove the shaft cap from the attach-
ment (if p resent) and discard.
2. Press and hold the locking/release button.
3. Push hanger onto the attachment until the
locking/release button snaps into the hole.

DANGER: Donot extend arm sabove
shoulders while pruning. Do not stand be-
neath branch being cut.
WARNING: Always wear head, eye,
hearing, foot and body protection to reduce
the risk of injury when operating t his unit.
When operating unit, clip shoulder strap onto
clamp, stand as shown and check f or thefol-
lowing:
S Extend your leftarmandhold assisthandle
with your left hand.
S Holdtriggerhandlewithyourrighthandwith
finger on trigger switch.
S Keep motor end below waist level.
S Keep shoulder strap pad centered on your
left shoulder and danger sign centered on
your ba ck.
S Maintain full weight of tool on your left
shoulder.
