After each use, inspect complete unit for
loose ordamagedparts. Clean theunit and
decals using adampcloth with amild deter-
gent.

Cleaning the air filter:
A d irty air filter decreases engine perform-
ance and increases fuel consumption and
harmful emissions. Always clean or replace
air filter after every 5 hours of operation or
yearly, whichever comes first.
1. Clean the cover and the area around it to
keepdebris from fallinginto thecarburetor
chamber when the cover is removed.
2. Remove parts as illustrated.
NOTE:
Donotcleanfilter ingasolineorother
flammable solvent. Doing so cancreate afire
hazard orproduce harmful evaporativeemis-
sions.
3. Wash the filter in s oap and water.
4. Allow filter to dry.
5. Apply a few drops of oil to the filter;
squeeze filter to distribute oil.
6. Replace parts.
REPLACE SPARK PLUG
Replace spark plug each year to ensure the
engine starts easier and runs better. Set
spark p luggap at0.025inch. Ignition timing is
fixed, nonadjustable.
1. Twist, then pull off spark plug boot.
2. Remove spark plug from cylinder anddis-
card.
3. Replace with Champion RCJ-6Y spark
plug and tighten securely with a 3/4 inch
socket wrench.
4. Reinstall the s park plug boot.
REPLACE FUEL FILTER
Toreplacefuelfilter,drainunitby runningitdry
of fuel, then remove fuel cap/retainer as sem-
bly from t ank. Pull filter from tank andremove
it fromthefuelline. Install newfuelfilter onfuel
line; reinstall parts.

CHECK MUFFLER MOUNTING
SCREWS
Once each year, ensure muffler mounting
screws are secure and tightened properly to
prevent damage.

1. Loosen andremove the2screws fromthe
muffler cover.
2. Remove the muffler cover.
3. Tighten the2 muffler mounting screws se-
curely.
4. Reinstall muf fler cover and 2 screws.
Tighten securely.
CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENTS
There is no screw for idle adjustment on your
blower. The throttle lever is used to control
engine speed. The throttle lever can be
placed in one of four positions: STOP, IDLE
or
, FULL THROTTLE or , and one
intermittentposition. Ifyourenginewill notrun

STORAGE
W ARNING:
Perform the following
steps after each use:

Allow engine to cool, and secure the unit
before storing or transporting.
S
Store unit and fuel in a well ventilated area
where fuel vapors cannot reach sparks or
open flames from water heaters, electric
motors or switches, furnaces, etc.
S
Store unit with all guards in place. Position
unit so that any sharp object cannot acci-
dentally cause injury.
S
Store unit and fuel well out of the reach of
children.
