OPERATING TIPS
S While vacuuming or blowing debris, hold
the unit with the m uffler side facing away
fromyour body andclothes (seeOPERA T-
ING POSITION).
S To reduce the risk of hearing loss
associated with sound level(s), hearing
protection is required.
S To reduce the risk of injury associated with
contacting rotating parts, stop the engine be-
fore installi ng or rem oving attachments. Do
not operate without guard(s) in place.
S Operate power equipmentonly at reasonable
hours--not early inthe morning or late at night
when peoplemight bedisturbed. Comply with
times listed in local ordinances. Usual recom-
mendations are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
Monday though Saturday.
S To reduce noise levels, limit the number of
pieces of equipment used a t any one time.
S To reduce noise levels, operate power
blowers at the lowest possible throttle
speed to do the job.
S Userakes andbrooms toloosen debrisbe-
fore blowing.
S In dusty conditions, slightly dampen sur-
faces or usea mister attachment whenwa-
ter is available.
S Conserve water by using power blowers
instead of hoses f or many lawn and garden
applications, including areas such as gutters,
screens, patios, grills, porches, andgardens.
S Watchoutforchildren,pets,openwindows,
or freshly washed cars. Blow debris away
safely.
S Usethe fullblower nozzleextension so the
air stream can work close to the ground.
S After using blowers and other equipment,
CLEAN UP! Dispose of debris in trash re-
ceptacles.
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE
WARNING: Be sure to read the fuel
information in the safety rules bef ore you
begin. If you do not understand the safety
rules,donotattempttofuelyourunit. Contact
an authorized service dealer.
FUELING ENGINE
WARNING: Remove fuel cap slowly
when refueling.
This engine is certified to operate on
unleaded petrol. Before operation, petrol
must be mixed with a good quality 2-cycle
air-cooled engine oil. We recommend
McCulloch brand oil mixed at a ratio of 40:1
(2.5%). A 40:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 5
liters of unleaded petrol with 0,125 liter of oil.
When mixing fuel, follow the instructions
printed on the container . Always read and
followthesafetyrules beforefuelingyourunit.
IMPORTANT
Experience indicates that alcohol blended
fuels (called gasohol or using ethanol or
methanol)canattractmoisturewhichleadsto
separationandformationofacids duringstor-
age. Acidic gas can damage the fuelsystem
of anenginewhileinstorage.Toavoidengine
problems, empty the fuel systembeforestor-
agefor 30days or longer. Drain thegas tank,
starttheengineandletitrununtilthefuellines
andcarburetor areempty.Usefresh fuelnext
season. Never use engine or carburetor
cleanerproductsinthefueltank orpermanent
damage may occur.
HOW TO STOP YOUR ENGINE
S Release the throttle trigger.
S Push and hold the STOP switch in the
STOP position until the engine stops.
BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
WARNING: YouMUSTmakesurethe
tubes are secure before using the unit.
D Fuel engine. Move at lea st 3 meters away
from the fueling site.
D Hold the unit in the starting position as
shown. M ake sure the blower end is di-
rected away from people, animals, glass,
and solid objects.
