This receiver provides the DVD MULTI playback mode for
reproducing the analog discrete output mode of the DVD player.
Before playing back a DVD, refer also to the manual supplied with
the DVD player.
Activating DVD MULTI Playback Mode
You can adjust the DVD MULTI playback mode while playing back
a DVD using the analog discrete output mode on the DVD player.
Once you have made adjustments, the receiver memorizes the
adjustments until you change them.
You also need to set the DVD player to the analog discrete output
mode.
Before you start, remember...
There is a time limit in doing the following steps. If the setting is
canceled before you finish, start from step
1
again.
On the front panel:

Press DVD MULTI.
Notes:
• When you select “DVD MULTI” as the source to play, the
Surround mode is canceled, and the SURROUND ON/OFF and
SURROUND MODE buttons do not work.
• If you select the source to DVD MULTI while using both the
speakers connected to the FRONT SPEAKERS

and
2
terminals, the speakers connected to the FRONT SPEAKERS
2
terminals are deactivated.
• When selecting “DVD MULTI” as the source, you can only
select either the speakers connected to the FRONT
SPEAKERS
1
or
2
terminals.

Select the analog discrete output mode on the
DVD player, and start playing a DVD.
• Refer also to the manual supplied with the DVD player.
If you need to make any adjustments, go to the
following steps.

Adjust the speaker output levels.
1)
Press ADJUST repeatedly until one
of the following indications appears
on the display.
CENTER :To adjust the center speaker output level
(–10 to +10).
REAR L : To adjust the left rear speaker output level
(–10 to +10).
REAR R : To adjust the right rear speaker output level
(–10 to +10).
2)
Press CONTROL UP 5/DOWN ∞
to adjust the selected speaker
output levels.
3)
Repeat steps
1)
and
2)
to adjust the other
speaker output levels.
From the remote control:

Press DVD MULTI.
Note:
When you select “DVD MULTI” as the source to play, Surround
mode is canceled, and the SURROUND ON/OFF and
SURROUND MODE buttons do not work.

Press SOUND.
The 10 keys are activated for adjusting the sound.

Adjust the speaker output levels.
• To adjust the center speaker level, press
CENTER +/– (–10 to +10).
• To adjust the left rear speaker level, press
REAR•L +/– (–10 to +10).
• To adjust the right rear speaker level, press
REAR•R +/– (–10 to +10).
