to engageanddisengagesafely.A substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan
bedangerousby notdisengagingcompletely.Fora properworking
machine,useidenticalequipmentbeltsas listedinthe partspagesof
thisOperator'sManual.
Tochangeor replacethe deckbelt onyourtractor,proceedasfollows:
1. Removethe deckas instructedearlierinthis section.
2. Removethe beltcoversfromthe spindlepulleysby removingthe
hexscrewsthatfastenthecoversto thedeck.SeeFig.23,
3. It mayalso benecessaryto loosenthehexnuton the leftidler
pulleytogetthe beltoffthe pulleyandaroundthe beltguard.
4. Carefullyremovethedeckbeltfromaroundthe twospindle
pulleysandthetwo deckidlerpulleys,SeeFig,23,
5. Toplacethe newbelt,beginby routingthe belt aroundthetwo
outerspindlepulleysas showninFig,23,
6. Thenroutethe beltaroundthetwodeckidlerpulleysas shownin
Fig.23,
7. Retightenthe beltkeeperrodloosenedearlier.
8. Remountthebeltguardsremovedearlier,
9. Re-installthedeck,makingsurethebelt remainsroutedaround
the pulleysas instructed.Thecompletebelt routingisshownin
Fig,23.
10. Pullthe rightsideofthe belt,and placethe narrowVsideof the
belt intothePTOpulley.
11. Whileholdingthe beltandpulleytogether,rotatethe pulleytothe
left. Continueholdingand rotatingthe pulleyandbelt untilthebelt
is fullyrolledinto thePTOpulley.
PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Neverattempttoadjustthe brakeswhiletheengineis running.Always
disengagePTO(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutral
position,stopengineandremovekeyto preventunintendedstarting.
Ifthe tractordoesnot cometoa completestopwhentheclutch-brake
pedalis completelydepressed,or if thetractor'srearwheelscan roll
withthe parkingbrakeapplied,thebrakeis inneedof adjustment.
