WARNING
Be sure no one other
than the operator is
standing near the tiller
while starting engine
or operating the unit.
Never run engine
indoors or in enclosed,
poorly ventilated
areas. Engine exhaust
contains carbon
monoxide, an odorless
and deadly gas. Keep
hands, feet, hair and
loose clothing away
from any moving parts
on engine and tiller.
See your engine
manual packaged with
your unit for detailed
instructions pertaining
to starting the engine.

Features
and
Controls
Moving the lever upward will increase the tilling depth.
The lowest notch allows a tilling depth of approximately
6”, depending on soil conditions. For best results,
always begin tilling at a very shallow depth setting and
gradually increase the tilling depth.
WARNING: Do not attempt to till too
deeply too quickly. Gradually work
down to deeper tilling depths.
Place the Depth Regulator Lever in
the “travel” position before starting
the engine. This position prevents the
tines from touching the ground until
you are ready to begin tilling.
Failure to follow this warning could
result in personal injury or property
damage.
HANDLEBAR HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
The handlebar height is adjustable to three different
settings (Figure 3-6). In general, adjust the handlebars
so they are at waist level when the tines are 3”-4” in the
soil.
To adjust the handlebars:
1. Stop engine, disconnect spark plug wire from spark
plug and allow engine to cool.
2. Remove hardware, reposition handlebars, and
reinstall hardware securely.
