includingtheareacodeforwhichyoucan hear
ring(suchasyourofficephone).

a. InstalltheRavenmodemverifyingthatallpowerand
antennacablesarecorrectlysecured.
b. VerifythattheRavenmodempowersupandthatthe
Chan,LinkandReglightsblinkinunison.
c. ConnecttheRavenmodemtothelaptopcomputervia
astraightthroughRS232cableorconnecttheserial
cablefromthemodemtoaUSBtoserialdevicethat
hasbeenpreviouslyinstalledonthelaptop.
d. Usingaterminalemulationprogram(HyperTerminal)
setupfor9600bps,8databits,noparityand1stopbit,
verifythesignalstrength.

Thiswillrespondbackwithasignalstrengthmeasure

mentrepresentedindBm.Thevaluemustbebetter
