hardware, and software
Differentmodelnumberswillhavedifferentconfigurations.
Someoftheconfigurationstepsforonemodelwillnotworkat
allwithanyothermodelnumber.
ThemodelnumberforyourRavenisonthestickerwhichison
thetopofthemodem(example,Raven1xC3211orRaven
CDMAC3210).Thefirstletterandnumber(C3)indicatesthe
communicationtechnologyyourmodemuses.Thenext
number(2)indicatesthemodemmodel(Raven).Thefinaltwo
numbers(10,11,or16)indicatetheinternalhardwaremodel.
Hardware Required
• ApersonalcomputerwithafunctioningserialportorUSB
portandaUSBtoserialconverterconfiguredtoworkwith
yourcomputer.
• AstraightthroughRS232cable(DB9M‐DB9F).
• AsuitablepowersupplyandantennafortheRaven.
Withoutsuitablesignalstrengththemodemwillnot
function.Betterthanatleast‐100dBMisrequired.
• ACDMA/1xaccountthatsupportscircuit‐switched
communication.

• SetupWizard‐Theactivationutility.Youcandownload
