1. Press Menu in standby mode, and select Messages and Chat. Or: When reading
a text message, press Options and select Chat.
2. If you started the chat from standby mode, key in the other person’s phone
number or search for it in the phone book, and press OK.
3. Key in the nickname you want to use for the chat (see Writing text on page 28),
and press OK.
4. Write your message and send it by pressing Options and selecting Send.
5. The reply from the other person is shown above the message you sent. To reply
to the message, press Back, write your message and send it by pressing
Options and selecting Send.
When writing a message, you can press Options and select
Chat name to edit your nickname
Chat history to view the previous messages. Messages that you have sent
are indicated by "<" and your nickname. Messages that you have received
are indicated by ">" and the sender’s nickname.
Picture messages
You can send and receive text messages that contain pictures (network service).
For downloading pictures from WAP pages, see View image in Browsing the pages
of a WAP service on page 85.
Note: This function can be used only if it is supported by your network operator or
service provider. Only phones that offer picture message features can receive and
display picture messages.
