CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
ENGINE OIL FILTER (See Fig. 18)
Replace the engine oil filter every season orevery other oil
change if the tractor is used more than 100 hours in one
year.
Unscrew old filter by turningcounterclockwise. Use a
suitable container to catch oil.
Applya thin coating of new engine oil torubber gasket
on replacement oil filter.
install replacement oil filter by turning clockwise until
rubber gasket contacts mounting surface, then tighten
filter an additional 1/2 to 314turn.
Fill crankcase with new oil (See "TO CHANGE EN-
GINE OIL" inthis section of this manual). For approxi-
mate capacity see =PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS" on
page 2 of this manual.
Start engine andcheckfor oil leaks. Correct anyteaks
before placing engine into full operation.

IN-LINE FUEL FILTER (See Fig. 19)
The fuel filter should be replaced once each season. If fue
filter becomes clogged, obstructingfuel flow tocarburetor
replacement is required.
With engine cool, remove filter and plug fuel lin_
sections.
• Place new fuel filter in position in fuel line with arro_
pointingtowards carburetor.
• Be sure there are no fuel line leaks and clamps ar_
properly positioned.
• Immediately wipe up any spilled gasoline.

CLEANING
Clean engine, battery, seat, finish, etc. of all foreigr
matter.
• Keep finished surfaces and wheels free of all gasoline
oil, etc.
• Protect painted surfaces with automotive type wax.
We do not recommend using a garden hose to clean you
tractor unless the electrical system, muffler, air filter an(
carburetor are covered to keep water out. Water in engim
can result in a shortened engine life.
