YOUR WARRANTY R IGHTS AND OBLIGA-
TIONS:
The U. S. Environmental Protection
Agency and POULAN /WEED EA TER, DIVI-
SIONOF WCI OUTDOOR PRODUCTS, INC.,
are pleased to explain the emissions control
system warranty o nyouryear 2001--2004small
off--road engine. POULAN /WEED EATER
must w arr ant the emission contr ol system on
your small of f--road engine for the per iods of
time listed below provided t her e has been no
abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance of
your small of f--road engine. Your emission con-
trol system includes parts such as the car bur e-
tor and the ignition system. Where a warrant-
able condition exists, POULAN/WEED EATER
will repair your small off--road engine at no cost
to you. Expenses covered under warr anty in-
clude diagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFAC-
TURER’S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
If any
emissions related part on your engine (as listed
under EmissionsControl W arr antyParts List) is
defective or a defect in the materials or work-
manshipoftheenginecausesthefailureof such
anemissionrelatedpart,the partw ill ber epair ed
or replaced by POU LAN /WEED EATER.
OWNER’S W ARRANTY RESPON SIBILI-
TIES:
As the small off--road engine owner, you
are r esponsible for the perform ance of the re-
quired maintenance listed in your instruction
manual. PO U LAN/WEED EATER recom-
mends that you r etain all receipts covering
maintenance on your sm alloff--road engine, but
POULAN /WEED EA TER cannot deny warran-
tysolelyforthe lack of receiptsorfo ry ou rfailure
to ensure the performance of a ll scheduled
maintenance. As the small of f--road engine
owner, you should be aw ar e that POULAN/
WEED EATER may deny you warranty cover-
age i f your small o f f--road engi ne or a part of it
hasfailed duetoabuse, neglect,impropermain-
tenance, unappr oved modifications, or the use
of parts not made or approved by the or iginal
equipment manufacturer. You a r e responsible
for presenting your small o f f--road engine to a
POULAN /WEED EATER authorized repair
center as soon as a p r oblem exists. Warr anty
repairs should be com pleted in a reasonable
amount of time, not to exceed 30 days. I f you

war ranty period begins on the date the small
off--road engine is purchased.

Repair o r replace-

no charge to the owner at an approved PO U-
LAN/WEED EA TER servicing center. If you

W ARRANTY PERIOD:
Any warr anted part
which i s not scheduled for replacement as r e-
quired maintenance, or which is scheduledonly
for regular inspection to the effect o f ” r epair or
