S Have all maint enance other than the rec-
ommended procedures described in the
instruction m anual performed b y your au-
thorized service dealer.
S Always see y our authorized service de al-
er t o replace a damaged impelle r. P arts
that are chipped, cracked, broken, or
damaged in any other way can fly apart
and cause serious injury. Replace dam-
aged parts bef ore using the unit.
S Never place a ny obje ct in the air intake
opening as this could restrict proper air
flow and c ause dam age to the unit.
S Never douse the unit with wate r or other
liquids or squirt with a water hose. C lean
theunitusingadampcloth.Wipeoffwith
a clean dry c loth. S ee
MAINTENANCE.
S Check air intake o penings and tubes f re-
quently, alwa ys with the unit stopped and
power source disconnected. Keep vents
and t ubes free o f deb ris which ca n accu-
mulate and restrict pr oper air f low.
S Do not burn, incinerate, or expose t his
unit to extreme heat.
S Store the unit unplugged in a high, cool,
dry, indoor area out o f the reach of chil-
dren.
S Use onlyrecommended attachment sand
replacement parts to avoid creating a
hazard and/or v oiding warran ty.
S Maintain the unit according to recom-
mended procedures.
S Use onlyforjobs expla inedin the
OPERA-
TION
section of this manual.
BLOWER SAFETY
S Use only i n daylight or in good artificial
light.
S Inspect the area before using the unit.
Remove all deb ris a nd hard objects such
as rocks, glass, wire, etc., that can rico-
chet, be thrown, or otherwise cause injury
or damage durin g operation .
S Never run the unit w ithout the proper
equipment attached. W hen used as a
blower, a lways install a blower tub e. Use
only recommended a ttachments.
S To avoid spreadingfire, donot useblower
near leaf or brush fires, fireplaces, barb e-
cue pits, ashtrays, etc.
S Never place objects inside the blower
tubes; always direct th e b lowing debris
away from peop le, an imals, g lass, and
solid objects such as t rees, automobiles,
walls, e tc. The force of a ir can c ause
rocks,dirt,or s ticksto bethrownor torico-
chet which can hu rt people or animals,
break glass, or ca use other dama ge.
S Never use for spreading chemica ls, fertil-
izers, orany other substances wh ich may
contain toxic materials.
VACUUM SAFETY
S Stop the motor and d isconnect the powe r
sourcebefore openingthe airinlet dooror
attempting to insert or remove the vacu-
um tubes. The mot or must b e stopped
and the i mpeller blades no longer turning
to avoid serious injury from the rotating
blades.
S Hard objects ca n be thrown th rough the
collectionbag orthehousingand become
dangerousmissileswhichcan causes eri-
ous injury to the operator or others.
S When using t he vacuum attachment, the
unit is designed to pick up dry material
such as leaves, grass, small twigs, and
bits of paper. Do not vacuum stones,
gravel, m etal, broken glass, etc., to avoid
severe da mage to the im peller. To avoid
the possibility of electrical shock, do not
attempt to vacuum water or other liquids.
S Never run the unit witho ut the proper
equipment attached. When used as a
vacuum,always insta llvacuum tubesand
collection bag assembly. Make sure the
collection bag assembly is completely
zipped whenunit is runningto avoidflying
debris. Use only recommended a ttach-
ments.
S Avoid situations which could set th e col-
lection bag on fire. D o not vacuum dis-
carded matches, cigars, cigarettes, or
ash from fireplaces, barbecue pits, brush
piles, etc. To avoid sprea ding fire, d o not
use blower n ear leaf or brush fires, f ire-
places, barbecue pits, a shtrays, etc.
S Always use t he collection bag shoulde r
strapwhenvacuumingtoavoidlossof
control.
S Check a ir intake op enings, elbow tube,
andvacuum t ubesfrequently, alwayswith
the unit stopped and the po wer source
disconnected. Keep ventsand tubesfree
of debris which can accumulate and re-
strict pr oper air flow. Do n ot use with any
opening blocked, Keep free of dust, lint,
hair and anyt hing that may reduce air
flow.
