OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FREQUENCY MAINTENANCE REQUIRED REFER TO:
Before Starting Engine Fill fuel tank with correct oil and fuel mixture. Page 10
Every 10 Hours Clean and re-oil air filter. Page 20
Every 50 Hours Check spark plug condition and gap. Page 22
NOTE: Some maintenance procedures may require
special tools or skills. If you are unsure about
these procedures take your unit to an authorized
service dealer.
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
These required maintenance procedures should be
performed at the frequency stated in the table. They
should also be included as part of any seasonal tune-up.
WARNING: To prevent serious personal
injury, never do maintenance or repairs with
unit running. Always do maintenance and
repairs on a cool unit. Disconnect spark plug
wire to ensure the unit will not start.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
ADJUSTING EDGER CUTTING DEPTH
1. Loosen the adjustment knob above the wheel
(Fig 14).
2. Slide the wheel to the desired position.
Raising the wheel increases the cutting depth.
Lowering the wheel decreases the cutting depth.
3. Tighten the adjustment knob securely.
TIPS FOR BEST EDGING RESULTS
Keep the cutting attachment perpendicular to the
ground.
Do not force the edger. Edge the first time at a lower
depth, then do the area again with a deeper setting.
Walk the edger at a slow, even pace
Check the blade condition, as it wears it becomes
smaller, reducing the cutting depth performance.
Replace with a new blade as required.

HANGER
A plastic hanger (Fig. 15) comes attached to the end of
the add-on shaft housing. Use it to hang up the edger,
cutting attachment, or other add-on out of the way when
not in use. Push the release button on the shaft housing
and pull the hanger to remove. Align the hole in the
hanger with the release button on the shaft housing and
push on to install.
