This power unit can be dangerous! Operator
is responsible for following unit and manual
instructions and warnings. Read entire in-
struction m anual before using unit! Be thor-
oughly fam iliar withthe controls and theprop-
er use of the unit. Restrict the use of this unit
to persons who read, understand, and follow
unit and ma nual instructions and warnings.
Never allow children to operate this unit.

OPERATOR SAFETY
S Dress properly. Always wear safety gl asses
or similar e ye protection when op erating, or
performing maintenance, on your unit (safety
glasses are available). Eye protection should
be marked Z87.
S Always wear face or dust mask if operation is
dusty.
S Always wear heavy, long pan ts, long sleeves,
boots, and gloves. W earing safety leg guards
is recommended.
S Always wear foot protection. Do not go bare-
foot or wear sandals. Stay clear of spinning
line.
S Secure hairabove shoulder length. Secure or
remove loose clothing or clothing with loosely
hanging ties, straps, tassels, etc. They can
be caught in moving p arts.
S Being fully covered also help s protect you
from debris and pieces of toxic p lants thrown
by spinning line.
S Stay Alert. Do not operate this unit when you
are tired, ill, upset or under the influence of al-
cohol, drugs, or medication. Watch what you
are doi ng; use common sense.
S Wear hearing protection.
S Never start or run inside a closed room o r
building. Breathing exhaust fumes can kill.
S Keep handles free of oil and fuel.

S Turn engine of fand disconnect spark plug be-
fore performing maintenance except carbure-
tor adjustments.
S Inspect unit before use. Look for and replace
damaged or loose parts before each use.
Make sure all handles, guards, and fasteners
are in place and securely fastened. Look f or
and repair fu el leaks before use. Keep i ngood
working condition.
S Replace trimmer head that is chipped,
cracked, broken, or damaged in any other
way before using the unit.
S Maintain unit according to recommended pro-
cedures. Keep cutting line at proper length.
S Use only 0.115″ diameter (3 mm) WEED
EA TER brand cut length line (see RE-
PLACING THE LINE). Never use wire,
rope, string, etc.
S Make sure unit is assembled correctly as
shown in this manual.
S Make carburetor adjustments with lower
end supported to p revent linefrom contact-
ing any object.
S Keep others awaywhen makingcarburetor
adjustments.
S Use only recommended WEED EA TER
accessories and replacement parts.
S Have all maintenance and service not ex-
plained in this manual p erformed by anautho-
rized service dealer .
FUEL SAFETY
S Mix and pour f uel outdoors.
S Keep away from sparks or flames.
S Use a container a pproved f or f uel.
S Do not smoke orallow smoking nearfuelor
the unit.
S Avoid spilling fuel oroil. Wipe up all fuel spills.
