OPERATOR SAFETY
DANGER:
RISK OF CUT. KEEP
HANDS AND FEET AW AY FROM BLADE
AND CUTTING AREA. Do not attempt t o
clear away cut material or hold material to be
cut when the blade is in m otion. Make sure
powerhead is stopped and spark plug wire is
disconnected (or powerheadis disconnected
from power source) when removing jammed
materialfromthecutting blade. Donotgrabor
hold attachment by the cutting blade.

Dress properly . Always wear safe ty glasses
or similar e ye protection when operating, or
performing m aintenance o n your unit (safety
glasses areavailable). Eye protection should
be marked Z87.

Always wear he avy, longpants, lo ng sleeve s,
boots, and gloves.

Always wear foot protection. Do not go bare-
foot or w ear sa ndals.

Secure hair above sho ulder le ngth. Secure
or remove loo se cloth ing or clo thin g with
loosely hanging ties, straps, tassels, etc.

Neve r direct discharge of material to ward by-
standers nor allow anyone near th e area o f
operation. Use care in directing discharge to
avoid glass enclosures, automobiles, and the
like.
FUEL SAFETY (for gas powerheads)

Mix a n d pour f uel outdoors.

Keep away fro m s parks or flames.

Use a container approved for fu el.

Do not smoke o r a llow s moking near fu el or
the powerhead.

A vo id spillin gfuel or oil. Wipe up all fuel spills
before sta rting the powerhead.

Move at le ast 10 f eet (3 meters) away from
fueling site be fore starting powerhead e ngine.

Stop engine and allow to coo l b efore remov-
ing fuel cap.

Remove fu el cap slowly.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY (for electric
powerheads)

tions, or around swimming pools, hot tubs,
etc. Do not expose to snow, rain, or water to
avoid the possibility of electrical shock. Do

nameplate of the unit.

presence of flammable liquids or gase s to
