FUELING ENGINE
W ARNING:
Remove fuel cap slowly
when refueling.
This engine is certified to operate on un-
leaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline
must be mixed w ith a good quality synthetic
2-cycle air-cooled engine oil designed to be
mixed at a ratio of 40:1. Poulan/Weed Eater
brand synthetic oil is recommended. A 40:1
ratio is obtainedbymixing 3.2ounces (95ml)
ofoil with 1gallon(4 liters) of unleadedgaso-
line). DONOT USEautomotive oil orboatoil.
These oils will cause engine damage. When
mixing fuel, follow instructions printed on o il
container. Once oil is added to gasoline,
shake container momentarily to assure that
thefuelisthoroughlymixed.Always readand
follow the safety rules listed underHANDLE
FUEL WITH CAUTION.
IMPORTANT
Experience indicates that alcohol b lended fuels
(called gasohol or using ethano l or methanol)
can attract moisture which leads to sepa ration
and formation of acids during storage. Acidic
gas can damage the fuel system of an engine
while in storage. To avoid engin e prob lems,
empty th e fuel system before storage fo r 30
days or longer.Drain the gas tank, start the e n-
gine a ndletit rununtil thefuel lines andcarbure-
tor a re e mpty . Use fresh f uel nex t season.
Never useengineorcarburetorcleanerprod-
ucts in the fuel tank or permanent damage
may occur.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
