S Always see your authorized service deal-
er t o repla ce a damaged impeller. P arts
that are chipped, cracked, broken, or
damaged in any other way can fly apart
and cause serious injury. Replace dam-
aged parts bef ore using the unit .
S Never place a ny obje ct in the air intake
opening as this could restrict proper air
flow and c ause dam age to the unit.
S Never douse the unit with wate r or other
liquids or squ irt with a water h ose. C lean

MAINTENANCE.
S Check air inta ke o pen ings an d t ubes fre-
quently, alwa ys with t he unit s topped and
power source disconnected. Keep vents
and t ubes free of debris wh ich can accu-
mulate and restrict pr oper air f low.
S Do not burn, incinerate, or expose this
unit to extreme heat.
S Store the unit unplugged in a high, cool,
dry, indoor area out of the reach of chil-
dren.
S Use only recommended att achmentsand
replacement parts to avoid creating a
hazard and/or v oiding warran ty.
S Maintain the unit according to recom-
mended procedures.
S Use only f orjobs explained in t he
OPERA-
TION
section of this manual.
BLOWER SAFETY
S Use only i n daylight or in good artificial
light.
S Inspect the area before using the unit.
Remove all debris a nd hard obje cts such
as rocks, glass, wire, etc., that can rico-
chet, be thrown, or otherwise cause injury
or damage durin g operation .
S Never run the unit w ithout the proper
equipment attached. W hen used as a
blower, always install a blower t ube. Use
only recommended a ttachments.
S To avoid spreading fire, donot use blower
near leaf or brush fires, firep laces, barbe-
cue pits, ashtrays, etc.
S Never place objects inside the blower
tubes; always direct th e b lowing debris
away from peop le, an imals, g lass, and
solid objects such as t rees, aut omob iles,
walls, etc. The force of a ir can cause
rocks, dirt,or sticks to bethrown orto rico-
chet which can hu rt people or animals,
break glass, or ca use other dama ge.
S Never use for spreading che micals, fertil-
izers, or any other substances which may
contain toxic materials.
VACUUM SAFETY
S Stop the motor an d discon nect the power
source b efore openingthe air inlet door o r
attempting to insert or remove the vacu-
um tubes. The mot or must b e stopped
and the impeller bla des no longer turning
to avoid serious injury from the rotating
blades.
S Hard objects can be thrown through the
collection ba g orthe housingand become
dangerousmissiles whichcan causeseri-
ous injury to the o perator o r others.
S When using t he va cu um attachmen t, t he
unit is designed to pick up dry material
such as leaves, grass, small t wigs, and
bits of pap er. Do not vacuum sto nes,
gravel, m etal, broken gla ss, etc., to avoid
severe da mage to the impeller. To avoid
the possibility of electrical shock, do not
attempt t o vacuum water or o th er liquids.
S Never run the unit witho ut the proper
equipment attached. When use d as a
vacuum, alwaysinstall vacuum tub es and
collection bag assembly. Make sure the
collection bag assembly is completely
zipped when unit is running t o avoidflying
debris. Use only recommended a ttach-
ments.
S Avoid situations which could set th e col-
lection bag on fire. Do not vacuum dis-
carded matches, cigars, cigarettes, or
ash from fireplaces, barbecue pits, b rush
piles, etc. To avoid sprea ding fire, d o not
use blower n ear leaf or bru sh fires, fire-
places, barbecue pits, a shtrays, etc.
S Always use t he collection bag s ho ulder
strapwhenvacuumingtoavoidlossof
control.
S Check a ir intake op enings, elbow tube,
and va cuum t ubesfrequently, always with
the unit stopped and the po wer source
disconnected. Keep vents and tubes f ree
of debris which can accumulate and re-
strict pr oper a ir flow . D o n ot use with any
opening blocked, Keep free of dust, lint,
hair and anyt hing that may reduce air
flow.
