STORAGE
WARNING: Perform the following
steps after each use:
S Allow motor to cool before stori ng or
transporting.
S Store chain saw and ext ension cord in a
well ventilated a rea
S Store chain saw wi th all guards in place
and position chain saw so that
any sharp object cannot accidental l y
cause injury.
S Store chain saw unplugged, well out of
the reach of chi l dr en.
SEASONAL STORAGE
Prepare your unit for storage at the end of
the season or if it will not b e used for 30
days or more.
If your chai n s aw is t o be stored for a
peri od of t i me:
S Clean it t hor oughly befor e lengthy st or-
age.
S Store i n a clean dry ar ea.
S Lightly oi l exter na l m etal sur faces an d
guid e b ar.
S Oil t he chain and wrap i t i n heavy
paperorcloth.
TROUBLE CAUSE REMEDY
Chain does
not move
when trigger
switch is
engaged
.
1. Chain tension incorrect.
2. Guide bar rails pinched.
3. Trigger switch failure.
4. Circuit breaker tripped/
fuse failure.

Maintenance section.
2. Repair or replace.
3. Contact an authorized service
dealer.
4. Reset circuit breaker or replace
fuse.
Chain c lat-
ters or cuts
roughly.
1. Chain tension incorrect.
2. Cutters damaged.
3. Chain worn.
4. Cutters dull, improperly
sharpened, or depth
gauges too high.
5. Sprocket worn.

3. Resharpen or replace chain.

1. Oil tank empty.
2. Oil outlet clogged.
3. Guide bar oil hole
blocked.
1. Fill oil tank.

dealer.
3. Remove bar and clean.
Chain cuts
at an angle.
WARNING: Always stop unit and disconnect from the power source be-
fore performing a ll of the recommended remedies below except remedies
that require unit to be operating.
1. Cutters damaged on
one side.
2. Chain dull on one side.
3. Guide bar bent or worn.
