Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If
powerhead is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
dropped into water, return it to your autho-
rized servic e dealer for repair.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)
protection should beprovided onthe circuit
or outlet to b eusedfor thepowerhead. Re-
ceptacles are available having built-in
GFCI protection and may be used for this
measure of safety.
DOUBLE INSULATION
CONSTRUCTION
Your powerhead should be double insulated
to helpprotect against electric shock. Double
insulation construction consists of two sepa-
rate “layers” of electrical insulation instead of
grounding. Tools and appliances built w ith a
double insulation system are not intended to
be grounded.Safetyprecautions must be ob-
served when operating any electrical tool.
The double insulation system only provides
addedprotection agai nst injury resultingfrom
an internal electrical insulation failure.
W ARNING:
All r epairs to an electric
powerhead,including housing, switch, motor,
etc., m ustbediagnosedandrepairedby qual-
ified service personnel. Replacement parts
foradoubleinsulatedappliancemust beiden-
tical to the parts they replace. A double insu-
lated appliance is marked with the words
“double insulation” or “double i nsulated”. The
symbol
(squarewithin as quare)may also
be marked on the appliance. Failure to have
the unit repaired by your authorized service
dealer can cause the double insulation con-
struction to become inef fective and result in
serious injury.
BLOWER SAFETY
W ARNING:
Never put handsor other
objects into blower housing to avoid serious
injury from the rotating impeller.
W ARNING:
Inspect the area before
using the unit. Remove all debris and hard
objects such as rocks, glass, wire, etc., that
can ricochet, be thrown, or otherwise cause
injury or damage during operation.

Inspect attachment before each use for
worn, loose,missing, ordamagedparts.Do
not use until unit is in proper working order.

Keep outside surfaces free from oil and
fuel.

Never start or run engine inside a closed
room, building or other unventilated a rea.
Breathing exhaust fumes can kill.

Avoid dangerous environments. Do not
use in unventilated areas or where explo-
sive vapors or carbon m onoxide build--up
could be present.

Do not set unit o n any surface except a
clean, hard area while engine is running.
Debris such as gravel, sand, dust, grass,
etc. c ouldbe picked upby theair intakeand
thrown out through discharge opening,
damaging unit, property, or causing serious
injury to bystanders or operator.

Do not overreach or use from unstablesur-
faces such as ladders, trees, s teepslopes,
rooftops,etc.Keepfirm footingandbalance
at all times.

Never place objects inside the discharge
opening; always direct the blowing debris
awayfrompeople,animals, glass, andsolid
objects s uch as trees, automobiles, walls,
etc.The forceofaircan causerocks, dirt,or
sticks tobe thrownor to ricochet which can
hurt people or animals, break glass, or
cause other damage.

Check air intake opening frequently. K eep
vents and discharge opening fr ee ofdebris
which can accumulate and restrict proper
air flow.

Neve r p lace any object in air intake opening
as this could restrict prop er a ir flow andcause
damage to t he unit.

Never use for spreading chemicals, fertiliz-
ers, orother s ubstanceswhich maycontain
toxic materials.

To avoid spreadingfire,do notuse nearleaf
or brush fires, fireplaces, barbecue pits,
ashtrays, etc.

Wear hearing protection.
S
Use only in daylight or good artificial light.

Use only for jobs explained in this manual.
MAINTAIN YOUR UNIT PROPERLY
W ARNING:
Disconnect powerhead
spark plug (or disconnect powerhead from
power source) before performing mainte-
nance.

Have all maintenance other than the rec-
ommended procedures described in thein-
struction manual performed b y your a uth o-
rized service dealer.

Always seeyour aut horized servicedealerto
replace a damagedimpeller. Parts that ar e
chipped, cracked, broken, or dam aged in
any other way can fly apartand cause seri-
ous injury. Have damaged parts replaced
before using attachment.
