ATTACHING SHIELD
WARNING: The shield must be prop-
erly in stall ed. The shield provi des p artial protec-
tion from t he risk o f thrown objects to the opera-
tor and ot hers a nd is equi pped with a l ine limiter
blade which cuts excess line to t he proper
length. The line limit er bl ade (on undersi de of
shield ) is sharp and can cut yo u. For proper

1. Remove wing nut from shield.
2. Insert bracke t into slot as shown.
3. Pivotshielduntilboltpasse s throughhole
in bracket.
4. Securely tighten wing nut onto bolt.

ADJUSTING THE ASSIST HANDLE
WARNING: When adjustingthe assist
handle, besu re i t r emains above the safety label
and below the m ark or arrow on the shaft.
1. Loosen wing nut on handle.
2. Rotate the h andle on the shaft to an up-
right position; retighten wing nut.

The ON/ST OP switch is located on the trigger
handle and is used to stop the engine. To stop
the engi ne, pu sh and re lease the engine ON/
STOP swi tch.
PRIMER BULB
The P RIMER B ULBremovesair fromthe car-
buretor and fuel lines and fills them with fuel.
This allow s you to start t he engine w ith fewer
pulls on the starter rope. A ctivate the primer
bulb by pressing it and allowing it to return to
its original form.
